When I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Anna Jane, in this post, I just had to try and re-create her look. The mix of a casual black dress paired with a stunning contrast of coral is effortless yet beautiful. I unfortunately don't own a long black maxi dress like hers, but I do own something similar that I purchased a couple years ago from one of my go-to boutiques. With its plunging neckline, it reminded me quite a bit of Anna's J. Crew dress. I think trying to mimic an outfit can be overwhelming if you don't have the proper elements of the outfit in your own closet. But for me, it isn't about an exact copy; it's about capturing the overall look and feel.

Dress - Angl (old), Coral necklace - Anthropologie, Sandals - Cynthia Vincent for Target, Earrings (unseen) -  Chanel

My nails were painted with Essie's Topless & Barefoot:

Verdict? If you have light to medium skin like I do, it does live up to the hype. The perfect nude!

How do you girls go about re-creating an outfit? There are so many inspirational bloggers out there, it's hard not to pull from their lookbooks!

What is the formula for Barefoot & Nude like (I heard it can be hit and miss with Essie)

  12. Thank you for the sweet comments as usual girls =) I appreciate your feedback!

For those of you curious about the formula of Essie's Topless & Barefoot: It is actually good Essie this time! It isn't runny or watery at all, nor is it streaky. The application is opaque in two coats, which is what I have on. In comparison to other nudes I've tried, this one is a sure winner!
    Thanks for reading =)

  14. Love your outfit and the nail polish! I went out shopping especially for the nail polish, but both my Ulta and Target didn't have it, so I settled for Essie Sand Tropez for now! I like it, but think it will look better with more of a tan!

  16. Kate: Oh, I hope you find it! I know it sells out quickly but I was lucky enough to find some at my ULTA one day. If not, I'd try to google it and see if I can find it online. I didn't pick up St. Tropez because it looked too dark for me. Topless & barefoot is more nude with a slight pink while I think that one is more gray in its undertones.

    Pop Champagne: Thank you!
