Hi everyone, happy Friday! I couldn't be happier that the weekend is here, lots of fun plans ahead. To close out June, here is the monthly question: Why do you blog? Has the reason changed over time, and if so, in what ways?

For me, blogging isn't about how many followers I get (although I appreciate every single one!) or how many companies contact me. I rarely get sent anything for free. I don't have a photographer to take my pictures, nor do I even have an awesome professional camera. I don't use this platform to share too much of my personal life, and honestly, that's the way I prefer it. Now, that's not to say that every little thing I blog about isn't autentically me. Anyone that knows me in real life would surely attest to that. I share the part of myself that makes me the happiest, and that's my love for beauty and fashion. As much as I enjoy writing and taking pictures for Beautygirl24, I enjoy reading your blogs even more! You inspire me to try new products, steer me clear of bad purchases, and put a smile on my face when I need a good pick-me-up throughout the day. I only hope I do the same for you.

So...I blog because I love reading and writing. I want to share my passion for pretty things (as frivolous as that may seem). I blog because it serves as an escape. But mainly, I blog because I love it, and because I love connecting with you. That has never changed, and it never will.

Now I ask my readers: Those of you with your own blogs, why do you do it?

Thank you for reading :)

♥ Noelle

    1. Well, I am one that is glad you blog! I've been following for a long time and am inspired by your posts :-) For example, bloggers such as yourself inspired me to start my own blog. I really wanted to start my blog because I was and am in the last year of my 20s and wanted to remember the things I did this year or where my thoughts were/are. Thank you sharing this with us and for your honesty :-)

      1. Thank you Maria :) What a sweet comment. I am also in my late twenties. I think blogging is the new age diary, and it will be very interesting to see how our lives and tastes change over the next few years. I've already been blogging for almost three! I love your blog, and I'm happy you decided to start one.

    3. I love your reason! Especially can relate to this part:

"I don't use this platform to share too much of my personal life, and honestly, that's the way I prefer it. Now, that's not to say that every little thing I blog about isn't authentically me. Anyone that knows me in real life would surely attest to that. I share the part of myself that makes me the happiest, and that's my love for beauty and fashion."

I like sharing the positive aspects of my life - yet my life is WAY more than obsessing over beauty products and the next best accessory. I think blogging is a healthy outlet for my superficial side (which is just as valid a part of me as my deep and thoughtful side!)

      2. It's often tempting for me to vent on here when I've had a bad week, or when I'm going through hard times with family, work, etc. But I don't want to taint this positive space! I think it would really lead my blog into a completely different direction! So I save that for long talks with my fiance instead :)It's just so nice to have an outlet like this! Knowing I put a smile on your face puts a smile on mine Ella :)

    4. I love reading your blog! As for the question, I blog because it is a way for me to express my love for fashion and show my creative side! And I love interacting with readers!

    5. Great post Noelle. I can't even believe Ive been blogging for 3 years now. My reasons for blogging have changed over time. i first started blogging because I was a bored housewife and wanted to start one as a hobby. Then once I started interacting with other bloggers (you included) it felt like i was making friends and learning about so many different things. Then I became pregnant and wanted to document it and also follow mamas to be. Now that I am a mom its nice having a forum to give and receive advice from others. Im with you on not having professional pictures. I do all of my posts with my trusty iPhone and I don't have a ton of sponsors, rarely do give aways and or go to blogger events. I blog because I enjoy connecting and sharing with others and once its not fun for me anymore ill probably retire ;) lol Either way I'm so glad were blogger friends!

      1. I feel like a lot of us started blogging at the same time! And those of us that did are very friendly and supportive towards each other. I definitely view many of you as friends! Now, your blog Andee...I adore! I love that you live in Orange County. I often know where you are when you do posts about restaurants or beaches. I agree that if there comes a point where I don't truly enjoy this forum, then I'll stop. But I don't see that ever happening! I hope you never tire of it either.

    6. Love your attitude. I think all bloggers continue blogging because of their sheer love for it. It's hard work and we need motivation to continue.

      1. Thank you :) It does take time and motivation, especially when you don't have the best camera, or a photographer taking your pictures and editing them for you. AND especially when you aren't tech savvy! I learn as I go :)

    7. Great answer Noelle! I couldn't agree with you more- blogging is such a great outlet for sharing things that make you happy and discussing them with others who have similar interests. I also try to not get too personal and I try to keep it a place of positive thoughts and expressions.

    8. I've been blogging for around 4 years now...wow time flies! I started mine mainly because the girls on Specktra told me I should document my makeup looks in my own blog (I was an active Specktra member then). So I started like that I still mainly focus on makeup/beauty and sometimes throw in some fashion posts and lately pregnancy related ones. Like you, I don't have a professional camera or a lot of sponsors. I actually refuse most offers for free products as I want the blog to be about what I like and what I do. I have found some amazing friends through blogging and have learned new application techniques I never knew before.

I found your blog a few months ago on my quest to follow more fashion blogs with ladies who's taste were similar to mine. And I've been loving it ever since :)

    9. Great answer Noelle! What I really appreciate about your blog is how real it is and how down to earth and sweet you're. I've mentioned before that your blog was one of the first ones I discovered couple of years ago which inspired me to start my own.
