Wearing: Nordstrom blazer, Marshall's tank, Loft skirt (check stores), Nine West pumps, Kate Spade bag, Stella & Dot bracelet, Target necklace
A few months back, I fell in love with a flouncy white skirt from H&M. I stalled on buying it, and when I went back several weeks later after giving it much consideration, of course the pretty white skirt of my dreams was gone. How many times has that happened to you? So frustrating! I looked at several H&M locations, but it was nowhere to be found. You can imagine my delight when I went into Loft last week and saw this skirt hanging from the racks at the back of the store. Although not as full or flouncy as the one I missed out on, it was on sale for only $14.00! The reduced price tag solidified that I needed to snap it up before I made another mistake. It's great for Summer, but I can also picture myself wearing it with darker jewel tones and other neutrals come Fall. Moral of the story? Don't let special pieces get away, you might regret it!

That happens to me all the time...and I would have done exactly what you did..go to different locations lol! I'm glad you found a dupe at LOFT though, so cute!
ReplyDeleteI tend to get a little obsessed when I can't find something. It's like a treasure hunt, and I have to find it! It gets out of control! I'm happy I at least found something similar, and at a great price!
DeleteThat happens to be a lot. When I'm unsure about an item I buy it anyways (most of the time), just in case. So if I change my mind about it I return it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found something similar. Love the way you styled it.
That's smart Lilly, I usually just buy an item too even if I'm unsure. Then I mull it over at home and try it on with things I have in my closet. If I still have doubts, I return it. Too bad I went against my own rule this time!
DeleteYes - nothing worse then when an item gets away - especially at H&M where the turnover is so high! It's happened to me 3 times before there - but 2 times had happy endings (I was able to find my pink gingham shirt stocked in one store though it was sold out in others, and the elbow-patch button-down shirt I loved was reissued so I could pick it up)...as for the one that got away (a turquoise necklace) - for months after, I kept scanning the racks hoping for one necklace left behind LOL!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to find a dupe - AND H&M might reissue something similar soon ;-)
I hope so Ella! It would look great in other colors for fall. I hope h&m does bring it back somehow!
DeleteYay, glad you got your skirt:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I like this one a lot :) I love white!
DeleteAwww glad you got the skirt! It's so pretty on you. :)

Thank you Sheila :)
DeleteGah, I hate when I stall on an item and go back and it's gone. I'm always like "Am I going to have buyers remorse if I don't get this?" before I put something back. ahah!

I know, it's best to just buy it and then return it if you have to at a later time. As long as the store has a good return policy!
DeleteI do that all the time, Noelle. I have started buying and returning more than leaving it behind....often I return it, but at least I had time to make sure I really loved it :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous skirt - looks great on you!
Jessy
Yes, I completely agree! Thank you jessy :)
DeleteI've missed out on so many pieces that I've become an expert on finding items online. I missed out on a jcrew sweater last year and finally bought it this week from poshmark...but I love your skirt! So pretty and yellow is my favorite color!
ReplyDeleteI hate that. And then you think about all the wonderful outfits you could have paired with it. Such a bummer, but glad you found one similar. And I love that blazer. So cute.
