Today marks the last installment of the holiday style series and link-up. I'm sad the holidays are over! Back to reality, but hopefully we can all look forward to a fresh perspective in the new year. I love the feeling of starting over, and the possibility of a blank slate. We all tend to make the same resolutions each year - losing weight, getting more organized, starting a new hobby. They are all great goals, and I know we all have good intentions come January first. The hard part is keeping them!

My resolutions are fairly simple this year: I'd like to start reading again, as it's something I rarely do anymore. I have always loved delving into a new novel, but that has taken a backseat to blogging. I'd like to pick up a book once in awhile! I'd also like to get a new job. I've been at my current workplace for over three years now, ever since I graduated college in 2010. It's time to move on, and move into a completely different field and direction. I don't enjoy what I do anymore, and I can't continue to be unhappy. My last goal for this year is to travel a little more with my husband. We are planning on going up north in April, and we really want to get out and be spontaneous. We don't have children yet, so now is the perfect time to see the country!

Don't forget to check out the hosts of this series! I've really enjoyed getting to know them through this link-up. More Pieces Of Me and On The Daily Express.

  2. I am with you on the reading! I was so religious about reading fun, easy books, and I know that all things blogging have cut actual reading out of my life. That's sad :( It's a double edged sword, since I do obviously enjoy blogging, but the key is balance!
I love this skirt on you and of all my portofinos, that is definitely my fave!
    Thanks, girl, for linking up!

  3. Sorry to hear that you are suffering from job dissatisfaction! That definitely sucks the life out of you and affects so many other areas of life, too. Hope you're able to do some hunting a make a change for the better. And yes, now that you mention it I haven't been reading as much since I started blogging. I have one book I'm 90% done with that I still haven't finished. Maybe I should make another resolution to at least FINISH one book. LOL. Thanks so much for participating in this series! I've truly enjoyed each of your posts! -Gina

  4. Thank you ladies! The holiday style series was so much fun to participate in! A bit about the skirt: it's faux leather, and I purchased it after seeing it on another blogger. I couldn't find it online, but stores might have it. I love the plum color for winter!

  5. I've been there (working somewhere that was a very bad work environment, but I love the actual work I did). Getting a new job changed me and changed my happiness. It is so so so worth it especially since you spend so much time there…and especially if you would like to have a baby one day.

  6. Definitely take the opportunity to travel with your hubby as much as possible pre-baby! We did as much as we could and never regret it. Love the shoes!

xx Vivian (p.s. I changed my name...)

  10. Great goals - I love reading a little too much - I'm either reading blogs or an e-book on my phone LOL! Especially love downloading free e-books from project Gutenberg...am currently re-reading Wuthering Heights (it's been 18 years since I last read it...wow...I feel old LOL!).

Good luck finding a new job - it's such a blessing to have a job that you love - hope you find something fulfilling and enjoyable!
