Here's another happy purchase from Topshop. I'm telling you ladies, that place was brimming with flirty skirts in all sorts of different lengths and colors. I think I probably tried on at least a dozen! Crop tops were in every corner as well, but those didn't look as enticing. As much as I love the look on others, I can't bring myself to ever show my midriff again, unless I'm at the beach. I wore them quite a bit in high school, you know, before modesty set in and before my six pack disappeared along with my teenage angst. I do think this is a more comfortable way to wear one, a loose fitting t-shirt version paired with a high waist skirt. It's definitely a crop top, but because I'm not actually showing any skin, it gives the illusion of a regular length top. The lace material also keeps it softer and more feminine. Just a simple trick for any of you that are also afraid of the trend ;)

Love this all white combination!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your trip to TopShop! Your flirt skirt is so pretty and I love this all white look with black accessories!

I'm not a crop top girl either, but find it darling on other ladies. I love the black heel you chose to pair with this outfit!

Thank you Sky! The other girls mentioned my black heels too, but they are actually a dark metallic bronze. I guess the lighting makes them look darker then they are in person! Silver is next on my list!
DeleteI wish there was a TopShop by me. I've been loving the full skirts that you've bought from there. Oh and love love the dark metallic heels with all white ensemble, very chic :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on crop tops. I can physically pull them off but I just don't like them for my age (early 30's).
I feel the same way! I think even if my stomach was super toned, I'd feel shy about showing it in a crop top. I'm modest these days! Nothing wrong with that though ;)
DeletePretty and feminine as usual! I don't seem myself ever showing the midriff either... :)
ReplyDeleteI love your take on styling this style of top and even though I haven't joined the crop top movement this time around...I think it's just because I haven't found the right one or the right look that I would want to wear. I am also wondering if you've had to trim your hair to keep the length just right since your initial cut? It still looks really neat and nice, so you're lucky if it grows that evenly!
ReplyDeleteGina -- On the Daily Express
Thank you Gina! I've had it trimmed once since the initial cut in January. It's growing faster then I thought it would. I'm thinking of cutting it a bit shorter again :) it's so nice for this heat!
DeleteYou look white hot. I don't show my mid riff anymore either. My mid riff kind of sucks after having two kids.

Very cute, I love that skirt!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteJust found this blog and I'm loving it! Very feminine and classic styles. I was just wondering, how tall are you? I'm a shorter gal and wondering if you are too after seeing your wedding pics. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you so much, I'm happy you enjoy it! I am definitely a petite gal, I'm 5'2 :)
DeleteFun, I'm 5'1'' so it's good to know the styles you wear will work on me too! :)
DeleteLove it! You look amazing. I find this outfit of yours classy and girly. Love the skirt too!
ReplyDeleteI love this look just as much as your last one - I have such a love of white and lace and flirty skirts!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
Forgive all my comments but I love this too! The all white is so chic. Thanks for showing such a great way to wear a crop top.
