I've always loved the scent of roses. I remember when I was a small child, I'd watch my ninety year old great grandmother primping in her bathroom. I would sit on the counter and just marvel at how expertly she put on her rosy red lips and cheeks. She definitely smelled of flowers, but rose was the most prominent note. Scents are greatly tied into our memories, and I can't pass by a bouquet of blood red roses and not remember her in that tiny little bathroom getting ready for the day.

As I get older, I find myself missing her more and more. She lived to be one hundred and five, quite the feat! I can't even imagine. I also find myself drawn to certain things that she loved, especially roses. I wanted to share some of my favorite rose scented products with you, all of which I currently own and have collected over the past few months. I've a little collection growing!

I like displaying flowers in our living room or kitchen area because they brighten up the space. Nate brought me these beautiful roses on his birthday a couple of weeks ago.

My favorite perfume for the greater part of a year. As cliche as it may sound, lovely would be the best word to describe it. Along with soft, feminine, and fresh.

This along with Lush's ocean salt leaves my skin incredibly soft! I use it while in the shower to shave, and then I rub a little more on my arms and legs before rinsing. Rose heaven!

I love this brand in general, but I think I found my new favorite. Reminds me a bit of strawberries and champagne. It has a very subtle hint of rose, perfect for lighting during a relaxing bath in the evening. Maybe I'll treat myself to one tonight.

I'll admit this was a splurge. I don't normally spend more than a few dollars on a lip conditioner, but I've been curious about this product for a long time and I finally purchased it last month. I love it! It leaves my lips soft, and it definitely does have a rose scent to it. Not sure it's quite worth the money, but if you're in the need for a little luxurious pick-me-up in these Winter months, I say go for it.

Have you tried any of these? Do you have any other rose recommendations for me?

  2. I love this! Such a sweet way to remember your grandmother. Mine made quite an impact on me as well. She has been gone for four years now, but I think of her so often. My house is filled with her things and they always make me smile.

  3. I love memories of playing at my grandmother's vanity! Such great memories Noelle, loved reading this post. That Dior lipbalm has been in and out of my Nordstrom online cart. I just can't convince myself to go for it!

    1. Doesn't it? I have both the original Chloe and the rose version and although I love both, the rose factor kicks it up a notch for me ;)

  5. It was so fun to read about your memories of your grandma and how they've had this impact on you over the years. My mom loves rose scented things so I might have to use some of these suggestions for her upcoming birthday!

    1. Let me know if you do! I think she would love the candle. You can order Voluspa from Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and probably from their own website. We have a beauty supply here in town that carries them too so let me know if you need any help with that.

  7. Such nice memories. I was little when both of my Grandmas passed away, so I don't remember much of them sadly.
I bought the Dior lip balm last Winter mainly because I heard great things about it and also because not many lip balms were working for me during the cold winter months. So I decided to splurge. It worked well and I'm on the fence about repurchasing (mainly because of having to use my finger to apply it). But I do love it :)
