Mustard isn't a color that I ever imagined I would gravitate towards. I like it on my sandwiches and hot dogs, but would I wear it? A few years ago, the answer would have been an emphatic "no". Fast forward to the end of my college days, when it became all the rage. I remember my best friend got a beautiful long cardigan in the shade and once she wore it, I followed suit. That happens pretty often. I have to see a trend on her before I'll attempt it. Now I love it, but I feel like it's a hard color to find. When I received an email about these adorable little slingback flats, I think I actually squealed. I had to grab them before they sold out, and two days after placing my order they were happily on my feet. I've been experiencing the blues lately, so it's nice to look down and see such a happy color. Sunshine in the form of shoes.

  1. Cute flats! I am not a huge fan of mustard clothes, but I love it in a shoe. I am digging your light layers. Bring on the kimono days!

  2. Love the shoes- the color and the bow detail! Sometimes I prefer the fun colors on my feet rather than my clothes.

  3. Aw, I love your last sentence, "Sunshine in the form of shoes." Yellow in any form is not my best color but yellow shoes and bags are a definite yes. Love this pretty lace kimono, too!

  4. I'm definitely afraid of mustard (and all shades of yellow). I have tried it and makes me look dead...but mustard shoes I can get on board with :) I'm def experiencing a case of winter depression and this pic makes me happy

I see that you are loving your kimonos lately ;)

  7. Thank you ladies, it seems we can all agree that mustard colored shoes and accessories are beautiful and a great way to incorporate some bold color. Clothes? Not so much. I personally could do mustard colored clothing, as long as the rest of the look was more neutral and simple. I definitely have a thing for Sole Society ;)
