I've been dreading blogging recently. I haven't the faintest idea why, but every time I open my laptop I am filled with this nagging feeling that I don't have anything to add to this community. It was refreshing to take a short break last week, and I really needed that time to focus on myself, school, and just living life without the compulsion to be on social media much. I think we all experience this, so now as I write, I realize how good this space is for my psyche, even though I have bouts where I feel defeated and uninspired. I hope you all understand.

One thing I haven't been dreading - gentle nods toward Spring, and these new booties I bought from Amazon are probably my favorite purchase so far this year. I love that they are cut in a way that allows for more of a leg lengthening appearance. Being that I'm only 5'2, I struggle to find booties that don't make me look even shorter. Certain styles that come up higher on the ankle tend to make me look squat, and that's not what I'm going for! I also love the sleeves on this loose fitting sheath dress. The 60's trend is one I am definitely gravitating to for Spring. This dress is obviously more appropriate for the weekend, but I've seen options that can be pretty for the office. Just choose a longer style that is a bit more fitted throughout the body and can be worn with small pumps or flats.

What are your favorite Spring trends? It's right around the corner. I can't believe this is the last day of February!

  3. Those booties are so cute! I haven't tried Amazon yet for clothing or shoes, but I keep seeing great items for a great price! I think I am going to cave and get something soon!

  4. I personally have dreaded it because I feel like there is so much pressure to sell or to be hocking some sort of thing and honestly I am soooo turned off by it. I am seeing a lot of consumerism in me and that is really pissing me off and I think that blogging is really affecting that!

    1. I completely understand! I've felt this way for a solid three years, and I'm constantly torn between giving in completely to all the shilling or going in the opposite direction. For me, there's a fine line. If I really love something I've purchased, I don't have any guilt putting that out there. But writing and connecting will always be my priority and it's sad that other bloggers don't see it that way. Most of us really don't need people telling us how to dress or what to buy! Your feedback is always appreciated and noted :)

  6. Your booties work because they are nude and have an elongating effect. So you are right on the money there. Also your outfit confirms for me that you guys are definitely experiencing spring down there :)

It's winter here and I don't expect spring to start before, well, first day of spring which is March 21st. We usually have snow on the ground till end of March and sometimes well into April. When that time comes, I look forward to not be wearing snow boots and wool coats hehehe. I don't generally follow trends but wear more of the stereotypical florals and chiffons in the spring :D

    1. The nude makes a big difference because they are practically the same shade as my skin tone!

It's definitely much warmer here. We've had quite a bit of rain which I'm so grateful for because the drought was massive. Things are much greener now :) Winter is definitely not over yet! And I'm okay with that

  7. It's always nice to take a break when you start to feel like it's a chore and no longer fun! I was so relieved to scale back to three times a week. it's enough for me to feel connected, and get me excited to share content, but not overwhelming for me to dread it. As for this outfit - I LOVE your hair extra much in this outfit and the color and print in this adorable number are springtime perfection!!!

  8. I go through phases of not knowing what to blog either...And also feel pressure when I feel like I blog far less than my peers....But at the same time, blogging is meant to be fun, so it's always good to step away and only continue when it feels right <3
