I even added a scarf (because I was chilly).

Fashion bloggers work miracles on girls like me. I didn't think I could wear something so far outside of my comfort zone, but somehow I did. I really like the dark colors in the outfit, which is an instant way for me to try something new or trendy without feeling like I'm saying, "look at me!" I think the charcoal cotton shorts are also a safer option, and they seem more appropriate for evening, the only time I would consider such an outfit for myself.
So what's the worst that could happen anyway? Having someone tell you that you don't look so hot? It's not the end of the world ;)
Would you ever wear something completely outside of your safe zone?

You look great!!! Totally pulling it off--with flying colors! I know exactly what you mean, this look terrifies me but I admire it so much on others and you are no exception!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit looks amazing on you Noelle! You're totally rocking it. This is one trend I have not tired.
ReplyDeleteBut since I started blogging I've definitely stepped outside my comfort zone and tried "trends" I wouldn't have otherwise.
You look great girl!! You definitely pulled this look off!! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeletetotally know what you mean! These look GREAT on you though! xoox
ReplyDeleteThank you loves! I'm still deciding if I'll ever wear this again, but it was eye opening to see what my body looks like in something so different. I appreciate the kindness though!
ReplyDeleteI think you totally pulled it off! I'm not a shorts person so I've never tried the look myself... I think it looks best with heels of some sort :)

I totally agree. It took me two years to get into skinny jeans.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in the shorts-tights combo. I'm still warming up to this idea.

LOL I can totally relate! Sometimes I feel like my outfit is going to get weird looks or is just TOO MUCH... Then I walk down the street and notice a girl wearing the exact same thing! Does she look weird? Nope... She looks cute!! Haha sometimes you just have to realize that nobody really cares what you're wearing, just wear what makes you feel pretty & rock it ;) xoxo

WOW! I love the ensemble! Shorts and tights looks great on you. LOVE when people can step "out of their comfort zones" ;) xo, tasha
ReplyDeleteHi Noelle,
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I love wearing tights with shorts. I'm not too afraid of trends but I can understand saying you'd never or probably never wear or do something and then end up succumbing to the trend that you thought was somewhat of a faux pas. I think I felt that way initially about extreme bellbottoms (and they're still in and out of fashion) but I finally wore a pair and they were classically cute. I seldom say never because I find myself think "never" but then i take a liking to it sometimes haha.

Thank you girls, I'm glad we can relate on feeling apprehensive about trying new looks!
ReplyDeleteJen: Thank you Jen! I think that's a great way to look at fashion, because we all evolve. My personal style is more focused than it ever has been, but it's fun to experiment :) Never say never!
Kisses aren't contracts: I agree, wear what makes YOU feel good! Thank you :) I love your blog name BTW.
ReplyDeleteLOOVE the tights with shorts!! You definitely look hot hot hot!

OMGOSH SO FREAKIN' CUTE!! you look so adorable!! i love shorts with tights i think the look is just so chic!
ReplyDeleteas for heels.. i think i'm juse use to wearing them haha.. i started wearing 2 inch heels back in high school.. and then they just got higher and higher as the years went on hahah.. when i worked part time in college.. i wore heels all day at my job so i'm use to them. (although i def DO NOT recommend doing it because i kinda messed up my back and feet) I only wear heels out to dinner and things like that.. and i try to be in flats as much as possible until i get to the restaurant/event/wedding and then i'll change into my heels for the event but i try to sit as much as possible. if you want to get use to wearing your heels i would def recommend wearing them around the house.. i still do this whenever i get a new pair of shoes.. i cook in my heels (the added benefit is that the hubs things it is so sexy when i do that AHAHA) that way you break in your shoes.. so you don't look awkward wearing them in public all shoes need a breaking in period!! :)
I feel the exact same way. I have to think twice to wear something new! You look great! :)
