First things first - I cut my hair! Obviously :) I took the plunge on Saturday morning, and waltzed confidently into my sister-in-law's salon. She proceeded to immediately hand me a large wine glass full of orange juice and champagne and then got straight to work! I was able to show her pictures from this post and she used them to give me the cut I wanted. I'm still shocked every time I glance at myself in the mirror. I walked by a building yesterday and didn't recognize my reflection in the window! I haven't had my hair this short since high school. I love it though, I really do. It feels so airy and free, with lots of movement and body. I'm sure it'll take some getting used to, especially with styling it but I'm so proud of myself for making such a drastic beauty change. I'm not usually the type to change much of anything, so this is a huge step in the right direction. Maybe it'll inspire more positive changes.

After my cut, I came home and changed into this little cobalt number for pictures. This is one dress that makes me feel instantly polished, and it was the perfect compliment to my new 'do.

These "current favorites" posts are always the most enjoyable for me to write. I'm constantly obsessing over certain things, and I love sharing them with you. This month has so far been all about sticking to my resolutions and getting back on track after a lazy December, but I'm also still loving decor and, of course, jewelry!

New mirror, purchased from HomeGoods with a gift card from Christmas. I love the bronze/brown tile frame. Our living room wall is quite large, and this is the perfect piece to fill it.

The crystal sconce is also a HomeGoods find. It hangs next to our kitchen. The swirl design is a lovely accent to our neutral palette. Lately, my mom has been bringing me fresh flowers from her garden, and I love decorating with them to add more color and vibrancy to our little space.

This tray from Target sits on the ledge between the kitchen and living room, and it's great for candles, pictures, and other pretty treasures I want to display. The great thing about having a large decorative tray is that you can switch out the decor frequently to add a different look. Before the wedding picture, I had a glittery tree for Christmas.

While browsing Instagram the other night, I came across this jewelry line found on Etsy: Amarilo specializes in dainty, handmade pieces. I especially love her rings! I want to order this lovely oversized heart.

Lastly, I stumbled upon this quote and it's my style resolution for the year:

It's so easy to get caught up in the trends these days. One of the most unsatisfying feelings is having a closet full of clothes, but nothing to wear. How many boyfriends and husbands have heard us say that?! I think I do pretty well to make sure I don't buy impulsively, but once in awhile, it happens. I'd like to curtail this altogether, and simply focus on buying pieces I know I will love and wear to death. Even if something costs a bit more than I'd like to spend, as long as it's classic and well made, I think it'll be worth it in the long-run.

What are you loving this month? Have you made any style resolutions for the year?

Happy Weekend!

One of my favorite colors this season is cranberry. Once a bit hesitant to wear such a bold statement, I now find myself drawn to anything in this vibrant shade. I love pairing it with grey, white, cream, and black. It really pops against these neutrals, and creates the perfect palette for Winter. Add some leopard and it definitely makes quite the impression. I couldn't resist a touch of matching lipstick too!

Oh, and I finally got some new sunglasses over the weekend. If you follow me on Instagram, you might recall seeing them. I love the oversized shape, the tortoise frame, and the snug fit on my face. They may not be my dream shades, but they work nicely for now :)

Today marks the last installment of the holiday style series and link-up. I'm sad the holidays are over! Back to reality, but hopefully we can all look forward to a fresh perspective in the new year. I love the feeling of starting over, and the possibility of a blank slate. We all tend to make the same resolutions each year - losing weight, getting more organized, starting a new hobby. They are all great goals, and I know we all have good intentions come January first. The hard part is keeping them!

My resolutions are fairly simple this year: I'd like to start reading again, as it's something I rarely do anymore. I have always loved delving into a new novel, but that has taken a backseat to blogging. I'd like to pick up a book once in awhile! I'd also like to get a new job. I've been at my current workplace for over three years now, ever since I graduated college in 2010. It's time to move on, and move into a completely different field and direction. I don't enjoy what I do anymore, and I can't continue to be unhappy. My last goal for this year is to travel a little more with my husband. We are planning on going up north in April, and we really want to get out and be spontaneous. We don't have children yet, so now is the perfect time to see the country!

Don't forget to check out the hosts of this series! I've really enjoyed getting to know them through this link-up. More Pieces Of Me and On The Daily Express.
