Both vest & blouse - Express
Watch - Fossil
Bracelet - Stella & Dot {Renegade}

Every year, I wait patiently for the weather to change so that I can break out my favorite Winter pieces. It usually rains here a few times in the Fall, so I take advantage and wear my trench coat as often as I can. Then comes the chilly feeling in the air, and I know it's time for the fur vest! Once intimidated by the look, I now love wearing it with jeans and a simple blouse or sweater (last seen here). It's the perfect way to add some warmth without feeling too bundled up.

Here are some great looks and ideas using a faux fur vest as the focal point:

Are you wearing faux fur this season? Only faux by the way...real fur isn't fashionable.

I am so thrilled to be teaming up with two very stylish bloggers for a holiday link-up series! For the next six weeks, we will be featuring a theme that will showcase our personal style during the most festive time of year.

The first theme? Casual holiday gathering. I am choosing to show you girls what I wore to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. And yes, I actually did wear this!

Wearing: Aryn K. jacket (old), Express blouse (similar)Loft modern skinny jeans (on sale today), J Crew pumps, Chanel bag, Baublebar bracelet

I've had this Aryn K. jacket for years, but have neglected it for awhile due to signs of wear and tear. I looked at it sadly hanging in my closet and decided it was high time to give it another chance. I love the feminine ruffles along the front, and it paired perfectly with my favorite blouse and cobalt pumps. Not exactly your traditional Thanksgiving day garb (I think last year I wore maroon and cognac). I just wanted to go for something different, and I think it worked :)

Be sure to check out these fabulous ladies On the daily Express and More pieces of me. Stay tuned for another holiday themed look next week.

On the eve before Thanksgiving, I thought I'd share just a few of my (current) favorite things. I say current because let's face it, they are always changing! However, this is just in time for Black Friday, and maybe this will give you some gift ideas.

1. Burgundy/cranberry/crimson/wine/oxblood

Just a hint of the burgundy lips I've been seeing everywhere.

Love this {Via}

My best friend has this scarf, and I just ordered it as well :)

Also these!

2. Home Sweet Home

Husband and I have been together for almost 8 years, but now that we are married, the vibe around our home is a little different. More romantic shall we say, and we have really been enjoying putting up some new decor.  Pinterest is still my best friend when it comes to ideas. We are even buying our first Christmas tree this weekend!

3. The Naked 3 Palette is on my wish-list!

The rosy tones look gorgeous!

4. Glitter & Metallics

5. Bows

6. Decorating With Wedding Photos

I honestly could go on and on about my current loves, but I think this gives you a good picture! I am taking the rest of the week off to spend more time with loved ones, but I will be back on Monday with a special post! I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for each and every one of you, and I really mean that. As always, thank you for reading :)

Most people dress up for work, and then go completely casual on the weekends. I do the opposite! I don't have the chance to wear heels and pencil skirts, opting for flats and jeans instead. If you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I work with kids and do a lot of commuting. I guess I can't complain really. My mornings are very easy because I don't have to put much thought into what I'm going to wear. However, I often miss dressing up! When the weekends come and most people want to throw on sweat pants, I want to throw on a pair of pumps! It's my only chance to wear the clothes I truly love. This pencil skirt was featured on one of my favorite bloggers, and I ordered it right away. I think I'm obsessed, and I plan on working it off the clock :)

Every year, I look forward to Sephora's friends and family sale. This year however seemed to almost pass me by. In an effort to condense my makeup collection and only buy products I know and love, I actually had no plans on partaking in it. Then I started reading some of my favorite blogs and watching my favorite YouTube girls. Instagram lit up with pretty pictures of what everyone was buying. I caved, and ended up buying just a few things that I either did need or have been curious about.

Necessities: Urban Decay primer potionMake Up For Ever HD foundation. I stand by the primer potion and have been relying on it for years. It keeps my eyeshadow in place all day long with no creasing. The HD foundation grew on me! I tested it out for my wedding, but wasn't completely sold on it. My makeup artist instead used an airbrush foundation, but I kept testing this one out. I fell in love with the beautiful sheer consistency and dewy formula. I began wearing it to work everyday, and I plan on keeping with it as my routine. If you want a bit more coverage, I still also swear by Mat Velvet +. For reference, I am number 120 in the HD foundation and number 30 in the Mat Velvet +.

Not so necessary but on my wishlist: Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey, Nails Inc. Gel Effect Polish in Kensington High Street and Porchester Square. I haven't tried any of these yet, but will report back soon!

I also picked up a couple things from MAC:
After getting my makeup done at the Nordstrom MAC counter (my best friend just got a job there!) I decided to go with their fluidline in Dipdown and brow pencil in Lingering. Both are natural and easy to use.

Lastly, my old trusty Shu eyelash curler has been put to rest. I do miss it though! I bought one from Shiseido, and although it does curl very well, it's really long and my almond shaped eyes aren't used to it. I keep clamping down on my eyelids! I think I just need to get used to it, but I don't think it's meant for small eyes.

Did you get anything from the Sephora sale?

Wearing: Nordstrom blouse (love this & this)Old Navy jeans, Nordstrom scarf (similar), J crew pumps (love)

Last Fall, I was obsessed with wearing vibrant hues. Anything bright and colorful was in my shopping bags and in my closet. This Fall, although I still love wearing color, I've been really gravitating towards dark neutrals and moody shades. I'm loving how easy they are to dress around, and how classic they feel. On this day however, I decided to go back to color and it was a great change. I think as much as we each can get stuck on something, it's always refreshing to switch it up and keep people guessing. And hey, leopard is a neutral that looks amazing anytime!
