Today marks the last installment of the holiday style series and link-up. I'm sad the holidays are over! Back to reality, but hopefully we can all look forward to a fresh perspective in the new year. I love the feeling of starting over, and the possibility of a blank slate. We all tend to make the same resolutions each year - losing weight, getting more organized, starting a new hobby. They are all great goals, and I know we all have good intentions come January first. The hard part is keeping them!

My resolutions are fairly simple this year: I'd like to start reading again, as it's something I rarely do anymore. I have always loved delving into a new novel, but that has taken a backseat to blogging. I'd like to pick up a book once in awhile! I'd also like to get a new job. I've been at my current workplace for over three years now, ever since I graduated college in 2010. It's time to move on, and move into a completely different field and direction. I don't enjoy what I do anymore, and I can't continue to be unhappy. My last goal for this year is to travel a little more with my husband. We are planning on going up north in April, and we really want to get out and be spontaneous. We don't have children yet, so now is the perfect time to see the country!

Don't forget to check out the hosts of this series! I've really enjoyed getting to know them through this link-up. More Pieces Of Me and On The Daily Express.

It's been a long time since I had an actual, healthy haircut. Last year was spent planning and prepping for my wedding so I wanted to get my locks in good shape. I concentrated on washing it less (about every three days) and using good products that promoted softness, shine, and longer length. I trimmed it about half an inch every couple of months to get rid of the dry ends, but I didn't want to do anything drastic. Well the wedding has come and gone, and it's high time I finally get rid of dead weight! I'm hoping for a fresh start this year, and hair is symbolic of change for so many women.

Aren't these ladies gorgeous?! I am still going to keep my dark color, but maybe add highlights once Summer hits. I want a longer bob with some long layers to break things up. I probably won't go above the shoulders, but if I like it enough, I may later. I'm never the type to jump in, I like more of a slow dip :)

Are you doing any beauty changes for the new year?

In my last post, I shared a fun new year's look that I wore over the weekend for my husband's birthday. That gold sequin skirt is always a hit I find, and I just couldn't save it for another few days. Well this jacquard dress is what I wore last night to ring in 2014. Still girly and glam, but more relaxed for a night with our best friends. There was one thing I had to have though, regardless of where we ended up - confetti. We didn't go all out with decorations, but where there is multi-colored confetti, there is a fabulous time to be had my friends...

I hope you all celebrated a wonderful N.Y.E.! I hope you're recovering nicely today too, just as I am :)

New Years Eve is quite possibly my favorite holiday of the year. With loads of sparkle and plenty of bubbly, it's certainly the time to celebrate life and look forward to what the future brings. Whether you're going all out with friends or spending a quiet night in, there's no reason to forgo the sequins and glitter! This year, the husband and I are going to my best friend's house for a cozy get together. I don't really have to get dressed up since we will be a small group, but that's not going to stop me from putting on something special. I was actually planning on wearing this outfit, but then I couldn't wait and wore it Saturday night to celebrate hubby's birthday in San Diego. A sequin skirt is always appropriate for a night out, New Years Eve or otherwise :)

Do you have plans for tomorrow night?

Living near the wineries means lots of weekends spent sipping sauvignon blanc and sangria. The weather has been gorgeous, so naturally I want to be outside enjoying the sun as much as possible. Last weekend was no different, and because it was warm I decided to bring out one of my favorite color-block skirts.

For those who celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

This is the best Christmas I think I've had since I was a kid. As a newlywed, my husband and I are just beginning to realize what we want our family to do each year in celebration of the holidays. We don't have children yet, but we still are a family, just the two of us. At this time last year, we were in the process of moving out, but still living with roommates in a large two-story house. Now that we have our own little condo, we feel at home and have really enjoyed putting up some decorations (mostly borrowed from our parents). It's also my first time ever having a real tree! That has been my favorite part - there's nothing like the smell of a pine tree!

So, we are still working on coming up with our own family traditions. I'm sure once we have children, things will fall into place. One thing we have been doing a lot this month is going to our favorite restaurants and wineries to enjoy good food and even better wine. We also always see a movie on Christmas day! We've been doing that as a couple for about five years now.

Here are some of our decorations. Nothing too elaborate, but we are both very happy and proud of our little home :)

This time of year is always about being grateful, and appreciating all that you have. I forget to do that in the hustle and bustle of daily life. People let me down, I get complacent. It's easy to do. But I am so thankful for the people in my life that I can truly count on, the ones I know will love me no matter what. That's what Christmas means to me. I hope you all have a wonderful beginning to your week!

I will be back on Thursday with another outfit post :)

As always, thank you for reading!

Oh and by the way, my blog is in the process of getting a fresh new look so that's why things may look a bit off for the next few days...
