This is that Gibson blazer in green that I told you about in my last post. See how it's much more vibrant in person? It definitely does not look like the green in the Nordstrom picture. I wonder if there are different versions of it. But I have to take a second to gripe about that. One of the perils of online shopping is that the color depicted on your computer screen is most likely not what you'll be receiving from the UPS man. I wish there was some way that companies could warn you about that. I think some do, but most don't. I guess it's the risk you take when shopping from the comfort of your couch (or bed in my case!) I love green and blue together. Throw in some burnished gold and you have a very pretty combination for the day.

pretty new things

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was sheer perfection, if I do say so myself. The holidays are often a stressful time for me, but for whatever reason, this year's festivities have been surprisingly relaxed. I think any time away from work and instead spent with loved ones is what I'm currenty craving.

Did anyone do any sales shopping? I try to avoid black Friday, and I did this year too...well, almost. I did stop at the mall very quickly on the way to San Diego. Needless to say, I didn't last long. I also ordered a couple things online, which is so much easier!

After months (maybe even a year) of lusting, I finally plopped down for this J. Crew beauty (25% off)

I still love bubble necklaces, and this one from Baublebar (a collaboration with Atlantic-Pacific) will be perfect to add lady-like polish to my outfits.

My very first Henri Bendel purchase! Although many of their pieces are quite expensive, this little crystal ring was just right for me. Love it!

The Gibson equestrian blazer is available for half the price at Nordstrom Rack! I purchased one in gray, and the green (it's a bit brighter in person) shown above. If you have a Rack near you, go check them out! It sells for $98 at a regular Nordstrom, but I scored two for the price of one at my Nordstrom Rack.

I'm still very much on the peplum bandwagon/train! My love for the fancy frill actually stemmed from owning a navy peplum Aryn K. jacket. I still have that one hanging in my closet, but after several years of wear and tear, I'm actually really hesitant to bring it back to life again. Does anyone know of any cures for fabric pilling?

Anyway, this little white and grey lace jacket is the new version for me. It's very lady-like, right? In fact, although it's no secret that I live in jeans during the colder months, I still take great joy in dressing them up as much as I possibly can. The new casual glam I guess :)

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The boy and I are headed off to a concert tonight, and we are staying at the W Hotel in San Diego. I'll be sure to Instagram...

I normally am not the girl who builds an outfit from the ground up. I love shoes, don't get me wrong, but I don't love them as much as I love a great bag or pretty jewelry. I do however base an outfit around one special piece though, and these velveteen pumps in a gorgeous peacock blue were special enough to feature. I think the texture is perfect for the holiday season. I love velvet! So rich looking, and definitely a little retro. I kept the rest of the outfit simple and reached for favorites - jeans and a pretty top. My new aurora borealis crystal bracelet courtesy of Oia Jules (thank you so much Elizabeth!) added a little sparkle.
