TJMaxx bracelet, love this one!

This month is one celebration after the next! First came my birthday, then our one year wedding anniversary this past Sunday (thank you for all the lovely comments on Instagram, we had a wonderful time). My friend's bachlorette party is this coming weekend, followed by her dandelion themed wedding on October fourth. I'm wiped out just thinking about it all! I can't complain though. For the first time in months, it was under 90 degrees here and I wasn't sweating during these pictures in the park. I'm still waiting for the cool-down, but for now, I'll gladly continue wearing white while sipping on an ICED pumpkin spice latte ;)

I only had one thing in mind for my birthday party last Saturday - white! I needed another excuse to pull out my favorite dress, and what better time than during a heat wave? Okay, so that part wasn't planned, but once I set my mind on THE 30th birthday party dress, I knew I had to brave the elements no matter how painful it was. It really wasn't that bad actually. Yes it has sleeves and is constructed of a thicker fabric, but it breathes surprisingly well for such a substantial dress. I borrowed my best friend's bronzed clutch, which I secretly plotted to keep for a while. Funny story: her hubby asked her at one point during the night if she was formally gifting it to me, and she gave him the side eye. That would be a no. Darn! I don't blame her, it's a gorgeous clutch! It mixed so well with my silver d'orsay pumps and golden jewels. Remind me to mix metals again please.

To say that this past weekend felt like a whirlwind would be a great understatement. I didn't have any real expectations for my 30th birthday, and I think that's probably the reason I enjoyed it so much. I've never loved celebrating my own birthday. I'd much rather celebrate someone else! But turning thirty is such a huge milestone, and one that had me thinking a lot about the past. Thirty years on the planet is quite a feat, one that I often take for granted. So in between a romantic dinner with my husband, opening beautifully wrapped gifts and cards from loved ones, drinking champagne, and lounging at the beach, I thought about my past. Where I've been, what I've accomplished so far, who I was and who I am today. I also thought about the future, and where I'd like to go, what more I want to accomplish, and who I'd like to become. I guess it sounds rather "deep" for a birthday, but I needed a healthy dose of reflection. I also needed to wear something fun and flirty for the romantic portion of the weekend, so I went with all black, ruby red lips, and a classic bag. It did the trick! I have one more birthday look to share, so stay tuned for that!
