Hey ladies, happy Tuesday. I hope you are enjoying your week so far! I'm back with a casual outfit that's perfect for cool Fall days. Our weather is still fluctuating quite a bit but that's typical here - my safest bet is layering so I can adjust when I need to throughout the day.

I bought this jacket from Express over the Summer when Gina featured it on her blog, and I'm so glad that I grabbed it while I could! This style is so practical for everyday wear, and it can easily be dressed down like I've done here or dressed up. In fact, I love wearing it over a little black dress and ankle boots for a night out with Nate. My exact jacket seems to be sold out, but I've seen similar jackets at Old Navy, Gap, and Target.

Speaking of Target, I have to say that I'm really impressed with their a new day line. They make such great basics, like the tank top I have on here. I love it so much that I also bought a striped version. They have the perfect amount of stretch, are a thicker weight so they suck you in, and are incredibly comfortable and flattering. I'm wearing my usual size medium and they are true to size. I highly recommend them if you need to replenish any basics in your wardrobe. Also, the leopard flats were an impulse buy after seeing them on another blogger. They are also by a new day and are a great way to incorporate leopard into an outfit if you're a little shy like me.

After seeing mine, what are your favorite Fall basics?

One of the best parts about Fall dressing are the rich colors, patterns, and textures. While I love the flowy bohemian vibe of Summer, Fall immediately makes me reach for more structured, classic pieces. It's around this time every year that I wish I could travel to New York City, set up shop at a cafe where I can happily people-watch, and revel in all the inspiration whisking by. Living on the west coast, there are just certain truths; mainly, it doesn't ever get that cold. And that's okay. There are some simple ways of participating in all the Fall fashion while still looking appropriate in a warmer area like California.

First, never underestimate the power of a good layering piece. Plaid blazers are huge this year, and they're a fun way to dress up an otherwise basic outfit. I got this one over the Spring from H&M, and they have a ton of options! I was just in there the other day and plaid was everywhere. This one is nice because it has the fit and feel of a cardigan, while still giving the illusion of a blazer.

Second, shoes make all the difference. I mean, enough said.

And third, use jewelry to create interest and go for pieces that really speak to you! I've become much more selective about jewelry in the last two years. Maybe it's because as a Stella & Dot stylist, I initially made the mistake of collecting too many things (I don't anymore). Maybe it's the wave of delicate everyday pieces that are so trendy right now. Or, maybe it's because I've matured and honed in on what I truly love to wear. Whatever the reason, I'm picky. I will not wear anything that's uncomfortable or heavy. When Ceceila Designs sent over a pair of their light-as-air leather earrings and stretch beaded wrap bracelet, I knew I would wear them repeatedly! I enjoy supporting small businesses headed by women with a vision. Cecelia Designs is based in Minnesota, and for every piece sold, one tree is planted in their community. You can't go wrong!

I hope you'll take a look at their site and find something you like! I love their white and gold splatter leather earrings and plan on purchasing my own pair next.

So far, what trends are you loving this season?

The very first signs of Fall made their appearance this weekend with lower temperatures, some wind, and a light sprinkling of rain here and there. Although I already miss the carefree feeling of Summer, it's always a welcome change to be able to switch up my wardrobe and wear something different.

Wearing // Similar dress here, here, here, Ted Baker bag, Steve Madden slingbacks

This polka dot midi dress has become a favorite of mine! I got it a few months ago, but polka dots are everywhere at the moment so finding something similar should be pretty easy in case you want to get in on the trend. It's such a classic print that I often wonder why it's ever even referred to as trendy, but I digress. Same thing applies to stripes and leopard - they go in and out, but never feel dated no matter when you wear them.

It's funny because I feel like I'm wearing a checklist of all the Fall trends I mentioned in this post. Cap toe shoes, check. Fun Fall print, check. Oh, and thanks to my amazing friends Caryl and Gina, I got a jewel-toned bag for my birthday! It's the most gorgeous shade of dark green, the perfect pop of color that goes with all of my Fall and Winter neutrals. The bonus is that everytime I carry it I'll think of them 💗

So all in all, my foray into Fall fashion 2018 has been an easier transition than it has been in the past. It's still too warm to break out the suede moto jackets and scarves, but adding in touches like the slingbacks and green bag make me feel current for the season.

How is your month going so far? Any big plans for Halloween?

Usually for my birthday every year, I treat myself to a (solo) shopping trip. Some years I've been more extravagant than others, but this time I really just wanted to try some new beauty products I've had my eyes on for awhile.

I've only used these a handful of times so I can't give full reviews just yet, but I will say wholeheartedly that the Becca lip glow in Camellia is the perfect cool-toned pink. I bought it a couple months ago but figured I should mention it here. I wore it the entire time I was in Mexico, and I still can't put it down! It's smooth, non-sticky, and smells like peppermint for an added bonus. I'm thinking of getting another darker shade for Fall/Winter since I love switching up my routine a bit each season.

I have fairly oily skin after coming off the pill, so I've been going back and forth on the Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter. Everytime a beauty blogger raved about it, I wanted to give it a shot too regardless of it being very "glowy." I've used it on my cheekbones to highlight and I absolutely love the incandescent effect. I'm going to try mixing some in with my Make Up For Ever foundation and see how it wears, or whether or not it's too glowy for me. I'll report back!

I thought these trendy facial rollers were just a gimmick, and maybe they are to a certain extent. However, I absolutely love using this at night after I've cleansed my face and in conjunction with my favorite serum. It feels so soothing after a long day! Facial rollers promote circulation and help products absorb deeply into the skin. So yes, it does sound gimmicky and yes, I would buy it again.

Tip: Stick it in your fridge for a relaxing cooling effect. It feels amazing!

I've seen great reviews for Sol de Janeiro products. Now that the weather is getting really dry here, I need all the hand cream I can get! This one smells like a tropical island getaway and isn't greasy. So far, so good.

The glam glow products are part of the Sephora VIB birthday gift. I haven't tried them yet but they also get great reviews.

I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! Happy October :)
