I wanted to love Butter London's nail polish. It is aptly named No More Waity Katie after the royal Kate Middleton. However, I don't love it. The color looks gorgeous in the bottle, a rich swirl of purple with tiny flecks of pure silver glitter. My problem is that it applies very sheerly. I normally don't mind that, but I guess I had really high hopes for this. The above picture shows the color on my nails after three thick coats. Maybe even four actually. I was expecting it to be much more dazzling, a showstopper. In my opinion, it's not. It is pretty, and I did wear it for about five days. However, I won't even tell you what a pain in the a** it was to remove, and I always take off my polish with 100% acetone. This one was tricky!

I don't necessarily regret the purchase, and I am sure it will get more love in the winter months. I'm not yet finished with my bright corals, ocean blues, and neon pinks.

But I just can't in good faith recommend it to you readers. I think there are far better purples out there.
Do any of you own this? How do you like it?

  1. It's definitely a pretty color, but you're right - not a show stopper...I love ocean blues as well and am DYING over the Les Jeans de Chanel coming out next month haha

  2. Angela: I know, I just saw the ad on Temptalia and the blues all look so pretty! I'll be in Vegas during FNO so I hope to stop by the Chanel boutique ;)

  3. That is a pretty color and I like the name a lot but you're right it's not's really a show stopper. AND I hate when polish is hard to get off, haha, because I'm so impatient so I'd probably skip this one :) You did a good job with it, thanks for sharing.

  4. I hate when polish is hard to remove. I've noticed anything with glitter in it doesn't come off easily (at least that has been my experience).
The color is nice, but it does't "wow" me. Thanks for the review :)

  5. Is it like a plum purple or a more blue purple?

  6. Dale & Lilly: I know, I normally don't have too much trouble with glitter polish though. This one for some reason just did not want to come off!

Just Another Shopaholic: It IS pretty. Just not up to par with all of the hype ;)

Anya: Hmmm...I would say it's both! It is a very deep purple/plum color. But it does lean a bit blue. It's definitely not a pink based purple!

  7. Beautiful color! But your comments about it being difficult to remove make me wary - one of my pet peeves!

  10. Katherine: It is a big reason why I can't recommend it!

Natasha: Thank you, I will always be honest with you guys. Otherwise, this beauty community would be pointless!

V: Well, I can rest assured that I'm not the only one who dislikes it and is disappointed!

  12. I agree the color is nice but I think I can find a better one by O.P or Essie.

  13. DailyAmelie: Blue nails can be hard to pull off, so I totally understand your sentiment! I still get nervous when I wear any sort of blue tone on my fingernails. I really love inky blues because they almost look black. I think when doing funky colors, keeping your nails short is the way to go :)

    Nina: I agree!
