Illamasqua nail varnish in "Rare"
Thoughts:
* Please excuse the messy application. I did my nails right before leaving for a concert! It was rushed
* This is three coats. Now, rare is NOT as opaque as I had hoped it would be. The first couple of coats went on quite streaky, and that was frustrating. However, I tried for a third coat and that really made a difference.
* Despite the somewhat lack luster formula, I LOVE this color! It really does make a statement. I can't even tell you how many compliments I have recieved. The hubs? I don't think he's a huge fan, but that's ok.
* The color changes according to lighting. I think Emily from Emily Loves said it best when she commented that it must glow. Well it does! In the evening and at night, it is a fun almost lime green. During the day in bright sunlight, it is a lot more of a highlighter yellow.
* Overall, I am happy to have it and I know I'll wear it a lot, especially against neutral clothing so it really stands out. I can't wholeheartedly recommend this polish in particular because it is expensive (about 16 dollars) and I'm sure you can find a dupe for it for a lot less money.
Of course, the title of this post comes from one of my favorite bands. I dare ya to listen to it without at least doing a little wiggle-shimmy-shake.

I love that song too hehe. AND don't worry about the application, I know what you mean, the color is really cool and eyecatching. Love how you paired the neon shade with the turquoise ring. It's very pretty. Hope you had fun at the concert.

I would never think to pick up a neon shade of polish - but I do love how this looks on you! My favorite "different" nailpolish is Chanel Jade (I have the Milani dupe). It is so pretty - but does NOT look cute on my nails LOL!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. COlor changes. Sounds like fun to wear. I like the bright color.

Electric Feel is such a good dancing song :) I love how bright it is; definitely makes up for the lackluster application IMO.

ReplyDeleteI really do like your nail polish color. It is different and daring!
ReplyDeleteThank you girls :) it does take some getting used to, but I think it's fun. You can't take yourself too seriously when wearing electric yellow!
ReplyDeleteLove your nails. Love your ring. A huge love fest for this post! I'm such a nail polish junkie but I don't have this colour. I'll have to give it a try. Although, it makes me long for sunny weather. So maybe I should plan a holiday to take my hands on :) Happy Weekending! xx Natalie
ReplyDeleteLOVE the color Noelle! Happy Friday! xo, tasha
ReplyDeleteAwesome nails! they look amazing with your ring!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like it!! And I say actually because I rarely do neon colors (although I have a couple pinks in my collection!) It looks especially great paired with the YSL ring! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome combo! love the neon yellow with the turquoise
ReplyDeleteps, love that song!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog. This nail color looks so fun. It's perfect for the summer. Is that the YSL Arty ring? I die!

Thank you everyone! I'm still wearing rare, but am going to change it for the week. I don't think it's appropriate for work ;)
