Although I continue to use most of the same tried and true products, I do like to experiment at the drugstore. Many offer wonderful return policies, so you don't feel locked into something if you don't like a particular shade or formula. Also, because drugstore products are often relatively inexpensive, you don't have to feel guilty for buying something new.

Over the past month, I've discovered some gems that I had never tried before.

Julie G. is a YouTube guru that has turned her makeup tips and tricks into a full blown line of nail polishes at Rite Aid. I don't know too much about her, as I've only seen a few of her videos. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical, but the candy colored shades looked beautiful and I was definitely curious. The shades I have are Gelatos in Venice (the light mint) and Cupcakes and Castles (baby pink with shimmer). These are amazing! The formula goes opaque instantly, and only two coats are needed to achieve the color pictured in the bottle. They aren't thin or streaky. I highly recommend giving them a try the next time you are in Rite Aid.

Another product I'm happy I've discovered is Revlon's Brow Fantasy. After going through my Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil, I was looking for something a little bit more versatile, and in a shade lighter. This pencil is in brunette, and I believe it is the second from the darkest shade. I love that it not only comes with the waxy pencil, but also a matching gel to tame my brows and keep them in place all day. You get a little more for your money with the two corresponding products, although I don't wear them together. I do one or the other.

After finishing my Pureology conditioner, I decided it was time to find something a little less expensive. I chose this one because I don't like to wash or condition my hair with products that contain sulfates. I didn't think I'd really see a difference in my hair, but I have! This claims to leave you frizz-free for 48 hours (or until the next wash) and I've really noticed my hair looking and staying less fuzzy. Now that's an accomplishment!

  3. Love the mint nail polish. I bought one at a drug store but it was AWFUL! Might have to hit up Rite-Aid to replace my icky one.

    1. You would surely like this one! It's a really pretty shade of mint, very true. It doesn't lean too blue nor too green.

  7. Wow, that polish really does coat well! Did you have to use a top coat or anything to keep it chip free?

    1. Yes, I always use Seche Vite top coat. I don't ever use a base but I think I should! It held up really well though, and that polish is one of my favorites now.

  9. Love the 2 polishes - the colors are so pretty and the names are cute! I love finding good drugstore haircare...am on the search for a new volumizing shampoo ever since burts bees butchered their one with a horrible new formula!

  10. Does Revlon's Brow Fantasy leave color on just your skin under your brow hair or your actual brow hair? I'm not sure if that made sense! I'm try to find a similar product.

    1. Hmmm, I notice it on my actual hair, although it does work to fill in sparse areas where I don't really have any hair. I think the gel is great for that! Otherwise, maybe a brow powder would work best for you.

  11. I bought the Revlon brow and gel pencil on a recommendation of another blogger. The pencil and gel is wonderful. However as you use the product and sharpen the pencil the cap will not stay on. The design flaw is annoying. I actually wrote to Revlon and they were nice to get right back to me. Hopefully they will change the design!

    1. I haven't sharpened it yet, and now I don't want to! Thanks for letting me know, that's really strange.
