I've always said that there's no better pick-me-up than treating yourself to some pretty beauty products. They must be completely unnecessary too, and the more spontaneous the purchase, the better :)

Stila Countless Color Pigments in Lyric - At first I wasn't sure what to do with this until I realized what a gorgeous shade of hot pink it would produce on the cheeks. I take a big fluffy brush, swirl it in the pan and apply it generously to my face. The warmth it brings is beautiful, and it really lights up my complexion. Other pigments in the line I think would be great as eye shadow, but lyric in particular caught my eye as a blush.

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in # 6 (Pink in Devotion) - This is my first YSL lipstick in this famously luxurious tube. The color is so vibrant in person, but the glossy stain-like formula makes it a bit more wearable. It literally glides on the lips and the outcome? Well, just beautiful, especially for Summertime. Last worn here.

Fekkai Glossing Cream - I swore by this when I was in my late teens and early twenties, and I have no clue why I ever stopped! One little drop and my frizzy hair is transformed into brilliant shine. I found mine at Target, but I've seen it at Ulta, Sephora, and online.

What little luxuries do you treat yourself to?

  1. Totally agree - nothing like little luxuries as a pick-me-up! The ysl lip color suits you & I love the packaging too! Have never tried the fekkai gloss - but I don't know how I ever live without my Moroccan oil lol!

I recently treated myself to peaches blush by Mac - would you believe it's my first Mac blush? It's sooo worth it - gorgeous color and unbelievable lasting power :-)

    1. Thanks Ella :) I don't own peaches by MAC, but I know it's a very popular shade! I love MAC blush. The satin and matte versions are the best. I think I own about four or five and keep them in rotation.

  2. How funny, I formerly used the FF glossing cream and have also stopped. I'm not sure why... I ran out and just didn't replenish but I remember loving it!

    1. Isn't it funny how that goes? I think in this community, we are always searching for the latest and greatest! It's nice to go back to the basics, or at least products we used to adore.

    1. Try it! Mine is actually extremely frizzy as well, and I have the hardest time getting it to obey! The cream is so moisturizing, a drop on your ends is all you need! You can use it both on wet hair before blowing it out and also after your hair is all styled.

  6. I agree, beauty products are a great pick-up-me :) I tend to do the same thing. My last pick-me-up was the Dior rose glow blush...just because it wasn't something I REALLY needed haha.

  7. I haven't tried any of these! I will make a mental note...I've been wanting to try that lipstick, any color suggestions? Have you tried the hair line Macadamia? Shampoo and conditioner...my fav the healing oil?

    1. Hmmm, well I don't really know what other shades are in the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine line but if you love color, get number 6! If not, I'm sure there's a more natural shade in the line. You don't need a gloss or anything with it!
I haven't tried the Macadamia shampoo or conditioner, but I swear by the deep repair masque. I use it once a week and it works so well.

  10. This is so true! You're right that unnecessary beauty items are definitely such a pick me up, and yes, the more unnecessary the better! I think for me my next splurge item would be something from benefit...
