Summer is right around the corner. Are you ready?! I'm pretty close. I would like a new bathing suit, maybe something super bright and tropical for my honeymoon in Maui. But, what I've really been eyeing lately are sunglasses. I've had my trusty Forever 21 shades (in black and tortoise) for years now. I can't believe they've lasted me. The best $5.80 I've ever spent! I'm not one to splurge on designer pairs because what if I lose them? Or they get scratched in my bags? Shelling out a lot of money has never interested me, but lately I really am re-thinking my stance. There are so many gorgeous options and at all different price points.

Tom Ford makes my favorite

  3. I have ONE pair of designer shades and I guard them with my life. The rest are all either Forever 21 or Target for fear of ruining them. It is pretty incredible to see the lens difference once you have a nice pair of shades though. :) Treat yourself!

    1. You know I've never thought about the lens difference but I'm sure it's noticeable! I want to treat myself, just waiting for the right time :)

  4. I never splurge on sunglasses either, mostly bc I'm so concerned about losing them.

I have like 5 really cool pairs. Purchased 3 at Marshall's at a GREAT price :) + awesome cases purchased there as well. I am so glad I bought those hard case covers because never before had my glasses lasted 3 yrs :D

The other 2 pairs I have I purchased on sale at LOFT. I think I paid $25 for both and they both came with a little pouch bag. I recently visited my BFF from HS and she feel in love with a pair, but I'm too attached to gift them :P so I just promised her I would get her a very similar pair. I'm on the hunt ;)

    1. I love stores like tj maxx and Marshall's for great items at affordable prices! Loft has some really cute sunglasses right now, I was just in there and was surprised by how many they had! I'm sure you can find a pair for your friend :)

  5. I wish I could pull off the aviators... I've tried so many but they don't flatter my face shape! I did, however, invest in some good Prada sunnies and they came with a good hard case with a soft lining to help prevent scratching.

    1. I don't like aviators on my face much either! My fiancé bought me a pair years ago and I can count on one hand how many times I've worn them! Poor guy. I love them on others though! My face is really round even when I'm at my thinnest. I need a pair that is more square or oblong in shape.

  6. I love the last pair a lot but prob coz I love aviator style. I'm the opposite with shades: shades are the only designer thing I would pay for but I do keep the same pair for years. I've had my Burberry aviators for 4 years now :)

    1. That's great, I love Burberry! I think they are so worth it if you take good care if them. I like to throw mine around, but that's because they were so cheap and I've had them for so long. If and when I do get a nice pair, I'll be OCD about them ;)

  7. Love the Tom Ford ones. Sunglasses is probably the first item on my list that I tend to splurge on. After all, I need to protect these eyes so they last me for lifetime :) xo, tasha

    1. Very true! I think sunglasses are known more for fashion than practicality these days, but we must remember why they are so important!

  8. I'm dying for a great pair of Ray-Ban aviators, but I just break them SO easily.

  9. I've had my eyes on the Karen Walker Super Duper in Black but can't bring myself to spend that much on sunglasses right now but you better believe I'm dropping some mad hints on all family members :-)

  11. I love the Prada glasses. I tried them on over the weekend and they looked awful on me haha.
My all time favorite style is aviators. Just got a pair at Target since I lost two pairs while on vacation (thanks to the waves). But I'd like to invest in a pair of Ray-Ban aviators.

    1. Lol, they look awful on me too! I think you have to have a certain face shape to really pull them off. I can definitely see some aviators on you though!

  13. I love the Tom Ford sunnies. I'm a sunglass hoarder. I buy them almost every time that I go to Tj Maxx or Marshalls, it's a bad habit. I actually have a variety in each of our cars and my husband can't stand they're everywhere but, whatev at least I'm decreasing my chances of getting wrinkles around my eyes. haha! I invested in a pair of Armani's and surprisingly, I've kept them nice. Go for it, you need at least one pair of pricey ones:)

  15. I love the Tom Ford shades! I usually don't spend a lot on sunglasses, I love getting them at Winners/TJ Maxx...Usually spend $20 for glasses that usually cost $80 - bargain!

I like to carry glasses with me ALL the time (I always toss them in my bag) so I don't want to splurge and then have to worry about keeping them in a case when I'm not wearing them.
