Happy Monday everyone! I bet some of you are possibly recovering from a fun party you went to over the weekend. I didn't go to any, but I do have my husband's annual work party coming up next Saturday and I always look forward to getting dressed up. There's no better time to put on the glitz and glam. For week two of the holiday style link-up, the theme of course is dressing up for a formal or semi-formal event.

Wearing: Asos top (old), Loft skirt, Zara pumps, J Crew factory clutch, Nordstrom necklace, family heirloom ring, and Nails Inc polish in Kensington High Street

I chose to wear a shimmery metallic blouse paired with a pleated skirt and gold jewelry. The details really elevate an otherwise simple look. I love the ease of a top and skirt because you can mix and match them with other pieces, which makes everything in your wardrobe go a long way. For fun holiday parties, I suggest metallics, sequins, playful prints and shapes, and anything that makes you feel fabulous! Now's the time to shine.

Here are a couple of other party look ideas:

  2. You always look so gorgeous! Every last detail is classy, ladylike and elegant. I think it's kind of genius to put your party look together with separates (rather than a dress) because then you don't have to worry about running into someone with your same dress! Thanks again for linking up with us!

    1. Thank you Gina! Although you know what? I wore my express shirt dress this past weekend to a party and I loved the ease of that too. It was a no brainer! I just played with accessories to mix and match.

    1. Yes, I love this Zara skirt! I got it on mega sale about a year ago and I've been wearing it on special occasions ever since. I will most likely wear it for NYE, but here is another link to how I styled it here: http://beautygirl24.blogspot.com/2013/06/glittering-nudes-neon.html
