I hate the time change. It was wonderful getting an extra hour of sleep last Sunday, and I do appreciate coming home and immediately slipping into cozy pajamas and lighting five candles that make our house smell like grandma's kitchen. But man is it hard to photograph outfits! My husband and I both work, so I really don't understand how people manage to get the timing right now that the sun goes down before five o'clock. By the time we do get home each day, the sun is gone. These were taken at eleven on Tuesday, and the sun was extremely bright. I'll admit we are pretty lazy with learning more about the ins and outs of photography. We know very little actually. I get dressed, we head outside (usually rushing off somewhere), he points and shoots for a solid three minutes before we both start getting annoyed, and that's about it.

I am however absolutely loving lighter neutrals and pastels for this Fall and Winter. I think it throws people off a little, but when you live in a place where there aren't any real seasons, your brain gets confused. I used to try so desperately to dress for the season. I wanted to wear giant luxurious coats and leather boots. But the weather tells me differently most of the time, and I've come to the strong realization that it's so much easier to just give in and dress for the climate in which you live, rather then what the season is supposed to look like. I don't live in New England, so why try to pretend I do and sweat my arse off, all the while looking like a total moron? I think I'm starting to get it, guys. This blogging thing has helped me in more ways than I thought!

    1. Thank you Tiffany! I love midi skirts, even if I feel like I'm straight out of the 1950's when wearing one ;)

  2. Those puuuumps. I love them so much. And I totally agree with dressing for the climate well. And even though I feel like I'm from another planet when posting my outfits with just my cami lately when everyone else has a sweater, scarf, jacket and, boots, I would definitely rather be in the "keep it real" camp. And this is my reality!

    1. Thank you Gina! These pumps were such a great but, albeit a bit of a splurge! I wear them so often. And yes, I get tired of trying to keep up with the "fashion world" sometimes. Best to just wear what suits us where we live :)

  3. Hi! I just found your blog seaching for " Michael Kors Large Selma tote " and I love your pictures! I'm thinking of getting this bag for a everyday work/school bag. I'm choosing between the navy and the black one. Which one do you think is the best? Also, I was wondering if you know if a macbook air 13 will fit in it?

Pretty blog! You definitely have a new subscriber : )

    1. Hi Sheri! Thank you so much for stopping by and reading. I love my Selma satchel, and am actually carrying it right now while my husband and I are on a road trip! It's a great versatile bag. I like to carry it most without the crossbody strap, but it's useful on vacations as I'm finding out. I think color is really personal preference, so it's hard for me to steer you in one direction. I love my black bag because I don't really own any black bags (u have one other shoulder bag in black and one clutch). I do love navy though, especially paired with cognac or tan! It's such a chic color in fall and winter. If you have black bags already, I'd switch it up to navy. I'm not sure if a MacBook would fit in it, but it might! I think it would fit width wise but maybe not height wise. I don't own one so it's hard to say. Overall, I'd recommend the bag though. It fits a ton and is classic looking. Hope this helps, let me know please :)
