After turning 30 last year, I realized that I enjoy celebrating other friends' birthdays much more. There is less pressure to be "on", and I can just sit back and shower others with attention. Sort of the way I felt about my wedding, or being in a wedding. I'm not someone who does well with several eyes on me, which is ironic considering I have a blog on the internet for the whole world to see. Thank goodness this is a small blog, otherwise I'd probably close up shop. Anyway, back to turning 30. It was my best friend's 30th on Saturday, and I had the best time in San Diego with her close family and friends. I chose this ultra feminine dress to wear that night because I wanted to feel comfortable yet still polished. I can't even tell you how many times someone commented that I looked like a "cute, 1950's housewife". I took it as a compliment although it was a strange thing to hear. Does that imply I look like a stepford wife? I'm still trying to figure it out, but either way, I'm going to wear the heck out of this dress!

  5. Thank you so much ladies! This sweet little dress is definitely me in the sense that it's very soft and girly. I actually hope it comes back in stock in this color and more! I'd get it in another color, something bright or even printed!

  7. LOL no...a stepford wife would drive a Range Rover or Escalade and wear Lululemon head to toe. A 50s housewife is classy and ladylike. :) And you do look both of those things in this pretty dress! This shade of pink is very pretty on you!

    1. Lol, okay now I get it! It's so funny because I always feel like the grandmother of the group! My style is so different than my friends. Katie really loves the bohemian look and my other girlfriends are pretty casual.

  8. I need this dress in my life! I feel like I say this about all your clothes and accessories lol I feel the same way about attention and much more enjoy celebrating others. I ALWAYS feel weird when people sing happy birthday to me whether at a restaurant or at home because...what are you suppose to do while people sing? lol The dress is so pretty on you and I'm heading on over to click on the dress link and do some shopping!

  11. Thank you Maria, carylee, and T! I'm going to keep an eye out for this dress again because it's sold out now :(. I hate that! I try to link things as quickly as I can but sometimes things sell too fast. I'm liking the looks of this brand though!

  12. The blog is completely different from any social situation. People may be looking, but they are seeing only what you want them to see and you don't have to deal with them face to face. Being the center of attention in real life is hard to compare.

Still, you are worth of being at that center in either situation, because you look amazing in that dress, and I love the color!
