Leggings are truly one of fashion's greatest pleasures, and also one of its best kept secrets. When I used to think of leggings, I pictured a frumpy mess (mostly because in college, I wore them to frump around the house in when I was too lazy to get dressed. In fact, I still do on my days off). But leggings don't have to be so casual that you still can't look pulled together and polished! Quite the contrary. There's nothing more casual chic than tucking them into a great pair of booties like I've done here, or even dressing them up for night by adding beautiful accessories and simple pumps. I always make sure to balance out the look by wearing a longer sweater, jacket, or cardigan on top. These leggings are a bit sheer, so I highly recommend covering at least your bum if you have a similar pair. Next on my shopping list are faux leather leggings that I can wear to holiday parties and out to dinner with friends. Tis the season to go glam and get dolled up, but even better when you can do so in comfort too. Now pass the chocolate chip cookies, please.
I currently have three pairs. How many leggings do you own? What's your favorite way to wear them?
Agreed on leggings, they are definitely one of my wardrobe essentials too...I have too many pairs to count :( but half of mine are "athletic" leggings I wear to the gym...all together I think I have over 30 pairs o_O
ReplyDeleteIn my defense I also treat my leggings as tight and wear them with dresses and boots...and we have long cold seasons. I buy mine at Aritzia, Lululemon and American Apparel.
Oh wow, I completely forgot about workout wear! Then I have 5 pairs of leggings :) I get my workout pants from Victoria's Secret. I wish we had access to an aritzia here! I always see you Canadian ladies with gorgeous things from that store!
DeleteFirst, love the pretty scenery in your photos today! Second, I love this color combo of the teal (I think?) cardigan and black top/bottom with the cognac leggings. It all comes together so nicely. And you know I'm totally with you on the leggings! I think they can be so much more than lounge wear. It's all in the styling, just like you showed here.

Yes, the cardigan is an emerald color but it always photographs more teal. It's really pretty! In fact, I'm wearing the grey version today. I just love the whole leggings look. They really are versatile!
DeleteLeggings, a big sweater and some kind of heeled boot is one of my favoriteee looks! Luckily it's been just cool enough lately in SD to pull that off!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!
ReplyDeletelove this comfy look, I actually stopped buying leggings. I'm a denim girl after all.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! Leggings are great, especially with a bug chunky knit sweater and a blanket scarf.
ReplyDeleteI have nearly 30 pairs myself, lol (equally, black for "fashion use" and color for "gym use"). It's easier (IMO, at least) to just have a lot of them so, that, you can always keep a different/clean pair in rotation; without having to do laundry every other day and risk early damage to the fabric. However: the black ones ARE my go-to pants 90% of the time, because I think they're the most flattering (and: COMFORTABLE) for someone with a curvy/"pear" body type. The fact they show an athletic vibe, to me, is not "lazy"...but is actually a confidence booster, in a way (I would rather have people think I went to the gym more than I actually do lol!; than, have "normal"/looser-fitting bottoms make people think I looked overweight when I really don't feel I am).
