But once in awhile, I do go to the drugstore to stock up on items that are worth every penny and are just as good (if not better) than what you get at department stores. It took some trial and error to come across most of these, but lucky for you because now you don't have to waste your money on a mediocre product.
These are my absolute favorite beauty products, all from the drugstore:
2. NYX Butter Gloss - The smoothest lip gloss I've ever tried; it really does go on like buttah. The line has a wide range of colors as well. I like to apply one after lipstick for a dose of moisture.
3. Real Techniques Beauty Blender (2 pack) - I once bought the real deal and you know what? I was disappointed! This blending sponge by Real Techniques is pliable and the perfect shape for applying liquid foundation, tinted moisturizer, and blending out concealer. It really serves as a workhorse in my makeup routine, and I'm convinced that every woman needs to use one for a flawless finish.
4. L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer - I have used this with a few different mascaras and it works beautifully each time. My stubby lashes appear longer and fuller in just one coat. If you're happy overall with your mascara but feel like your lashes could still use a boost, try this primer.
5. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso - This lightly shimmery blush is the perfect mix of pink and peach, with a warm undertone. It reminds me of the NARS orgasm blush, except Luminoso is lighter and more wearable. When I don't know which blush shade to reach for, I go with Luminoso.

drugstores always have the best mascara and I've been meaning to try NYX.

Ok, totally noted the sponges and the blush to pick up! I always use a brush but I am curious to try the sponge. And I actually just recently picked up the Milani baked blush in Dolce Pink (rec I saved a long time ago from another blog and just finally tried). Love it, so can’t wait to try this color as well. And I love that primer too. I have repurchased multiple times. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! For years I always got my makeup from Avon since my mom sold it. Now she's finally stopped and I need to find some replacements for my favorites. (I mean, I could keep buying but my allegiance was out of cost and convenience.) My favorite blush was always compared to that Nars shade on other blogs, so I will have to give this one a try.

Ooh I’m always a sucker for a best of drugstore post! Although most of my usual drugstore faves have been replaced by IT cosmetics purchases! I love the blush and want to try it someday - but feel guilty because I already own so many blushes lol!
ReplyDeleteHa, perfect timing on this post because I just spent $25 last night at Rite Aid trying to find a replacement for my discontinued brow pencil, do yes, I know exactly what you mean about cheap stuff adding up plus the trial and error of finding good drugstore products! For that $25 I could have purchased a single higher end pencil, but when it comes to liners and things I go through quickly, I really prefer drugstore because once I DO find a staple, it does save money. And L'Oreal's lash primer is definitely one of my staples too! That Milani blush looks gorgeous so I might have to try that once mine runs out!

Is that the gloss in Angel Food Cake? It's one of my favorites regardless of price. So good!
ReplyDeleteYes! It’s my favorite shade too, perfect to layer on top of any lipstick! Glad you agree it’s a good one :)
