I've picked up a few beauty products in anticipation of Spring. Not that we have seasons here, and not like I really need an excuse to shop for cosmetics but that's what I like to tell myself anyway. Being that I'm a lip junkie, three of my new goodies are products I can slap on my pucker.

This is also referred to as "one luxe balm" and that is an accurate description! I first heard about it a few months ago on a beauty blog, and made a mental note that I wanted to try it. While scrolling through Nordstrom's website, I stumbled across it and knew I had to make my purchase. I've been wearing it ever since receiving it in the mail. It literally melts on the lips and saturates every little dry patch. It smells slightly floral and slightly sweet, but I can't put my finger on the exact note. Whatever it is, it smells rich as obnoxious as that sounds. I will never be without it now. By far the most beautiful product I own.

I'm not much of a lip gloss fan these days, as I prefer wearing lipstick. It seems to last longer, and my hair never gets caught in it. I bought this on a whim while at Ulta, and this is probably the closest I'll come to a gloss. It's non-sticky and moisturizing, and the coral color gives me naturally "juicy" looking lips almost like I've just eaten a popsicle. The wand is wide and flat, so it covers a good amount of my lips in just one swipe. It's also a small tube, which I appreciate because I know I can actually get through it before the product goes bad. I'm tempted to try it in another bright shade.

I'm also not a huge fan of lip liner either, but I decided to give this one a try after seeing it on a YouTuber. Urban Decay is probably my favorite makeup brand, and if I ever want to experiment, I usually look to them first. "Native" is a neutral pink lip liner that is a great base for any lipstick you put on top. It's one of those "my lips, but better" shades. As you can see, I need to sharpen it again because I've been using it daily. I not only line my lips with it, but I also fill them in and then put either the lip slip or the lip lover on top for a great everyday look.

Now a couple of non-lip products:

I love Real Techniques. The brushes are affordable, well-made, and carefully thought out. The Bold Metals collection is a bit more expensive, but this brush in particular is so worth it! It can be used to apply a variety of powders, but I've been using it to apply blush. The shape is perfect for sweeping color across my cheeks. The bristles are ultra soft, and the handle is nice and sturdy.

This was also in my Nordstrom order along with the lip slip. I have very mixed feelings about this nail polish. The color is a beautiful whitish - pink, a shade I think many women love because it goes with everything and doesn't show wear as noticeably as bright colors. However, I was disappointed with the actual formula. It was a bit clumpy, and although it only required two coats to look opaque, it chipped within a few hours. I can't justify the price either. I linked it above, but I don't exactly recommend it. Try Essie's "Urban Jungle" instead and save your money.

Nails in O.P.I. "A good man-darin is hard to find"

When I was in college, Express was the destination for party perfect dresses and frilly frocks. I've worn an Express dress to my best friend's 21st birthday, her college graduation, my friend's wedding, and countless bridal and baby showers. In fact, I feel like so many of their dresses have seen me through life's milestones. With a slightly heavy heart, I found yet another dress that I wish I had worn through one of my own major life moments - my wedding rehearsal. How perfect would this have been? It's a true crisp white, and the fit and flare style is so flattering. And to think how badly I struggled to find something to wear that evening! Oh well, I'm sure it'll happily see me through more important occasions.

What's your destination for pretty dresses?

I grappled with the title of this post, because although Winter never came around these parts, I know so many of you who severely struggled with it! It seemed exceptionally brutal back east and up north. Can you guys see the light at the end of the tunnel though? From the looks of so many Instagram pictures this week, it looks like Spring is blooming for a lot of you!

Back to my non-Winter though. These looks are all from the past few months. I keep meaning to do a seasonal compilation of my outfits, but I haven't posted one since I believe Summer. I hope you enjoy! Many of you can probably consider these Spring outfits. I can't wait to get back to the beach.

If you need links or details about any of these outfits, let me know!

I think a lot of women feel obligated to come up with brand new outfits every day, and if you have a style blog, the pressure can feel even more overwhelming. My friends and I are constantly trying to find ways to feel current and fresh without shelling out a ton of money on clothes each season. In flipping through some of my old posts, I realized that I had an outfit that I loved for Spring, but hadn't worn since. In fact, that tank I had on in that particular post is long gone.  I do have a great replacement for it now though. I switched a few other things up, but the look is very similar and I love it! It's one of my favorite color combinations.

Here is the outfit I copied...from myself. Clearly a few things have changed from two years ago, my camera quality being the most obvious. And some things never change. I still like to leave this handbag wide open, which is such a hazard waiting to happen!

On a side note, Nettie my beastly but oh so loving puppy ate my beloved J.Crew factory sandals yesterday morning. After freaking out and worrying she may just die, I ordered the pair I linked above. Nettie is recovering from an eye injury, but I think the vet said her tummy is just fine. I swear I need to dedicate an entire post to her. I'm sure I could tie it in to style and beauty somehow :)

I don't know what it is, but I cannot get enough of Pinterest these days. Maybe it's because I'm spending too much off time on the couch, or maybe it's because I'm needing a style upgrade, but I have been loving it lately. I was a fiend during my wedding planning, but I didn't really have an account during that process. I would just search for things I needed, save them to a folder on my laptop, and print them out to show to friends, family, and vendors. Now that the wedding is over and I do have an account, it's naturally become directed towards fashion and beauty.

Here are some of my favorite pins from my boards. You may find them beautiful as well. I'll take one of each please!

Nordstrom B.P. jacket (old) but similar here
Nordstrom boots (old) but love these

This was my first time pulling out tall boots ALL SEASON. Crazy, right? I've had these for a few years now, but you'd never know it because I rarely get the chance to wear them. I have to admit though, I'm not really a boot girl. I much prefer pumps or flats. I think it has something to do with feeling too covered up on the bottom, and sometimes I find that they aren't the most flattering on my body. It's probably all in my silly head, like most insecurities that women have. This style is also a bit slouchy, and I wish they were more structured and stiff for that leg-lengthening look. The utility jacket however is an old gem that I need to wear more often. I love it! It's the perfect color, and all of the pockets make for practicality. I know this trend is going to be huge for Spring, so I've been pinning looks featuring similar jackets like crazy. This is one "trend" I can get behind.

How was your weekend? Mine was great! We went camping in the desert, and it was nothing but wind, gorgeous scenery, and casual vibes all around. We are so lucky that we can borrow Nate's parents trailer to camp out in luxury.

Linking up with Carylee and Gina today.
