Nordstrom brand houndstooth scarf
screams Winter and I've always wanted a scarf in a houndstooth print

Hue leggings from Nordstrom
Super thick, comfy, and warm. They are quite long on me, but if they are folded under, scrunched, or covered by boots, they work just fine.

The site is down so I apologize that I can't link this pretty sweater scattered with sequins. I got it in the petite sizing, 50% off

Again, no link but I tried it on in-store and this leopard print is really pretty and more sophisticated than some I've seen. I will most likely wear it to a Christmas party my fiance's work is hosting next weekend.

Now for the sad face: I ordered this pretty clutch from Lodis last week, in the burgundy color. Well I got a call today informing me that the burgundy is sold out and discontinued. I will be refunded, but am still bummed. The color would have been perfect for the season! I am still tempted by the black, but am on the fence.

I was actually surprised at how uninspired I was this past Black Friday/Cyber Monday to shop. I did hit the mall once, but everything was picked over by the time I got there.

Did you girls brave the sales? What did you get?

L'oreal Fairest Nude, MAC Shy Girl, MAC Mattene in Naked Bliss, Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
Revlon Glosses in Eggnog and Cocktail Dress

MAC See Sheer, Revlon Lip Butters in Sugar Plum and Red Velvet, Tarte 24/7 Lip Stain, Stila Paramour

These are all lip products on heavy rotation this Fall. The question is...Which shall I wear today?

What are your favorite lip products this season?

I hope you are enjoying a long weekend off! Due to a sudden change in plans, the fiance and I are staying in Carlsbad tonight. We both need some R&R, and this gorgeous beach town is the perfect place to do it.

I thought it would be fun to snap a picture of my outfits during a typical work week. I usually post outfits from my weekends, where I have a bit more room to play around with my clothes. During the week, I am much more casual. I realize that sounds strange, since I'm sure a lot of you girls have to dress up for work. I (unfortunately) cannot, due to the nature of my job. I have a little more freedom these days then I used to, but I still stick to flats, jeans, and simple blazers or sweaters.

So this is it, girls! Any given Monday through Friday, and you'll most likely find me wearing some variation of the looks featured below (at least during Fall). I don't know about you, but sometimes when I read blogs I think, "Is she really wearing that today?" Yes the outfit is insanely gorgeous and impeccably styled. I only wish I could wear ultra glam frocks every single day of the year. Come hell or high water, an illness, or a leave-me-alone-because-I'm PMSing kind of day, I swear some girls have all the luck.

These pictures were all taken last week:

Sweater/poncho type top and cami underneath - H&M, Jeans - BR, Scarf - Angl, Flats - Macy's, Bag - MNG by Mango

Striped top - Leif's Dottir, Navy cropped jacket - Aryn K., Jeans - Express, Flats - Zara, Bag - MNG Mango

Coral top - Lush, Blazer - Frenchi via Nordstrom, Jeggings - BR, Boots - BP Nordstrom, Necklaces - Lisa Taubes and Charlene K.

Dress, cardigan, leggings, and earrings - F21, Flats - Tory Burch, Necklace - Target, Lips - Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet

Friday: Woo-hoo! (Date Night)
Leopard blouse - F21, Cardi - Halogen via Nordstrom, Jeans - BR, Pumps - Kenneth Cole Reaction, Necklace - Express
Ring - YSL, Bead bracelet - Charlene K., Bag - Chanel

I think I may do this type of post every so often, maybe at the start of each season.
What do you think? What is your "typical" weekday look?

This goes without saying girls...I love flats. If you have read this blog at all, you know that! Simple, embellished, bows, leopard, colorful, glitter. You name the style, and I'll wear it! Flats are just practical for me and my current lifestyle. I think if I worked in an office or a corporate environment, I would probably wear heels to work. Since I don't, I save the heels for weekends and nights out.

I recently saw Tiffany's YouTube Video on her flats collection. I was drooling. Watch the video and keep your eye out for her Prada bow flats. They are to die for! Anyway, she inspired me to take inventory of my own collection.

Nine pairs total. Hmmm, less then I thought. Good! I don't feel so bad now.

Top row: Steve Madden (I've had these for years, and you can tell), Juicy Couture (my first flats ever).
Bottom row: Tory Burch Revas, Zara black ballerinas.

Top row: Circa Joan and David peeptoes, Zara ballerinas
Bottom row: Enzo Angiolini, Vera Wang Lavender, Kelly green Zaras

How many flats do you own? What's your favorite pair? I couldn't pick one!

I just don't know what it is with me and "Naked" palettes. I know the Too Faced version has been around just as long as Urban Decay's, but it wasn't until I went into Sephora last week that I finally took notice.

It comes with nine shadows, a little brush, and how-to cards that instruct you on different looks to try.

Without flash

Now let's compare...

Did I really need this? No, of course not. But it came home with me anyway and my 20% off VIB coupon is to blame. I must say though, the shadows are gorgeous. I love that the Too Faced Naked Eye palette is much more cooler in tone then that of the Urban Decay. The quality is definitely comparable though. Both palettes contain smooth, pigmented, and easy to work with shadows that can be layered, mixed, and worn in a variety of ways. I've worn the top row of the Too Faced palette for three days straight and I love the look. Very easy to wear during the week.

Do you girls own the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette?

I knew I should have steamed the blouse...It has a tendency to wrinkle!

OPI Warm & Fozzie, Essie Size Matters on my ring finger

Flats - Zara
Lots of assorted jewelry! Express, Charlene K., F21

Wine tasting with my friends.

Lace top - Charlotte Russe (last year), Nude cami & mustard skirt - F21, Quilted peep toe pumps - Zara, Necklaces - Express & J Crew, Rings - Charlene K. & Engagement ring, Earrings - F21, Bag (not shown) - Chanel, Nails - Essie Cocktail Bling (love!)

I am obsessed with mustard. Not a color I've always liked, but I gravitate towards it a lot now. I think it's part of the whole autumn color palette I'm loving. I also think that it's a safe option since it is very close to neutral, and this skirt from Forever 21's love 21 line actual borders on camel in certain light. Chain necklaces, sparkly rings, and feminine lace were a natural pairing in deciding what to wear with this hot mustard skirt.

What color are you gravitating towards?

It has been freezing here the past couple of days! And when I say freezing, I mean about 50 degrees (yes, I'm fully aware that as a socal girl, I'm extremely spoiled and the least bit of cold makes me turn into a total baby).

I threw this on and although I love my Missoni for Target scarf, I needed something more for warmth.

Time to bust out the fur! Faux of course, because I would never wear the real thing.

(Minus the)  fur vest and slouchy white top - Express,  Jeggings - Banana Republic,  Boots - BP "Runway" Nordstrom, Earrings - F21, Bag - MNG Mango JCPenney, Nails - Essie Cocktail Bling, Engagement Ring
I also added a rose gold watch and my Tiffany's bracelet after I took these pics

I never thought I would like a fur vest on myself, but my horizons have expanded partly because of reading blogs and partly because of Rachel Zoe. Who doesn't want to emmulate their fashion icons? The key is finding something that works for you, and not trying to look like a carbon copy of someone else. The fact that I made it through the weekend without taking the vest off is a sign that I made a wise choice in buying it. I also stayed very warm. I lit some candles, sipped on a peppermint mocha, curled up with my honey, and watched re-runs of The Rachel Zoe Project. He likes Rachel too :)
