Wearing //
Nordstrom B.P. jacket (old) but similar here
Nordstrom boots (old) but love these

This was my first time pulling out tall boots ALL SEASON. Crazy, right? I've had these for a few years now, but you'd never know it because I rarely get the chance to wear them. I have to admit though, I'm not really a boot girl. I much prefer pumps or flats. I think it has something to do with feeling too covered up on the bottom, and sometimes I find that they aren't the most flattering on my body. It's probably all in my silly head, like most insecurities that women have. This style is also a bit slouchy, and I wish they were more structured and stiff for that leg-lengthening look. The utility jacket however is an old gem that I need to wear more often. I love it! It's the perfect color, and all of the pockets make for practicality. I know this trend is going to be huge for Spring, so I've been pinning looks featuring similar jackets like crazy. This is one "trend" I can get behind.

How was your weekend? Mine was great! We went camping in the desert, and it was nothing but wind, gorgeous scenery, and casual vibes all around. We are so lucky that we can borrow Nate's parents trailer to camp out in luxury.

Linking up with Carylee and Gina today.

In an effort to better connect with you ladies, I want to continue my blogging goal of sharing more personal things about myself. Not too terribly private, because that would change the course of Beautygirl24 and I wouldn't be comfortable with that. Shopping, style, and beauty products are as deep as I want to get! But it's also fun to share lesser known facts too. One of these is that I love supercross and motocross. I'm not an athletic girl, and I force myself three times per week to give up my reality shows on the couch in favor of the gym, a quick jog around our complex, or some stretches in our living room. I never played sports growing up, and my hubby and I don't get excited over football, basketball, any ball. No, we like the "extreme" stuff. If it involves surfing, a skateboard, or a bike, we like it. He likes the individual aspect of it, the thrill of speed (or broken bones and impending doom). I like the adrenaline rush, because I'm a big fat chicken and don't have the courage to do these things myself. I also don't mind the cute boys. Look up Ryan Dungey and Ken Roczen.

We are mostly alone in our love of dirt bikes. Our close friends have made it clear that they think we are crazy. Imagine my complete surprise when Gina shared that she also loves supercross. What?! You mean, I'm not alone? I was shocked to be honest, shocked in a good way. So we met up with her last Saturday and went to supercross together, to watch strapping young lads go around and around on a dirt track at Petco Park. We were as giddy as school girls, and I was pretty distracted because all I wanted to do was have a gabfest with her. I think we should make it annual Gina.

What Gina Wore //
Express necklace, pretty option

For the record, I liked her outfit better! It was more appropriate for the event. I should have worn boots too.

Now tell me a little fact about yourselves!

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Did you watch the Super Bowl? We aren't big football fans around here (don't hate me) but we did manage to catch bits and parts. I've still been under the weather, so I was happy to make it out of the house to go to a gathering on Saturday. My best friend loves kimonos, so this look is entirely inspired by her style. She wore them a lot on our trip to Hawaii, and I admired the way the chiffon flowed as she walked. While I was browsing my favorite store the other day deciding on what my Spring purchases might look like, I found this black floral number on a mannequin. It was styled with a barcelona cami and jeans, which made me even more excited because I already have those in my closet. I was unsure about how to make it work for my body, but I guess a giant scarf look-alike is pretty easy for everyone to wear. I think it'll transition nicely into Summer, whether it be with shorts or over a bathing suit by the pool. Versatility is key!

Linking up for manic Monday with my favorite ladies, Carylee and Gina.

Topshop skirt
Kensie blazer, check Macy's stores
Francesca's Collections clutch
Banana Republic necklace

I'm keeping it short today ladies because I'm not feeling well this week. I've been battling allergies for months, but now it's clear that this is a cold. I'm not complaining too much because it's actually been nice to slow down and get some R & R. Hopefully I'll be back to myself by the time the weekend rolls around so I can get out of my yoga pants and work out tanks that have been pulling double duty as couch potato gear. Coincidentally, I started feeling a little off the day after these pictures were taken. I thought I'd had a little too much wine Saturday night, but not so. I haven't quite looked the same since either. Aside from my wine-colored finger nail polish that's staying strong, I've been a mess. If it's one thing to take away from this outfit, it's the nails! Essie "Recessionista" is a must-have. Go do yourself a favor and slap it on immediately. You can thank me later :)
