Zoya nail polish in "LC" (can't find a link but I've seen it at Ulta)
I often dress with that scenario in mind, and I'm not sure if this is normal. Anyway, it was over 100 degrees that day and it wasn't going to cool down much at night so I decided to nix the black, elegant dress in favor of something a little more appropriate for the heat. I know you guys are probably tired of seeing this white Topshop skirt but I reach for it all the time. I love the way it swishes as I walk, and it has pockets that I can stick my hands in when I'm feeling a little nervous (which I proceeded to do all night). I threw in a little happy colored clutch for good measure and away I went! Her backyard party was perfect. The same DJ that played during my wedding reception was there. I felt very nostalgic about that, as well as realizing that my friends and I are bidding adieu to our twenties. So far, it's been my favorite night of the year :)
it's a great party outfit and looks comfy:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, it definitely allowed me to move! I can't really dance, but it's fun to try anyway while my friends laugh!
DeleteAw, so glad you had a great evening and that's cool that your wedding DJ was there. I actually really love that you focus on NOT looking ridiculous when you look back at photos 20/40/60 etc. years from now. I think it's a great perspective and it shows in your classic style. I DO actually think about that. Not all the time. :) I indulge in some trends here and there but even looking at my own photos I have been drawn to a lot of the same styles for YEARS with just slight variations in the cut of jeans or whatever.

Thanks Gina! I'm sure I'll still have some what was I thinking moments but I try! It was definitely great seeing the dj. He's an older man from Orange County but he's so fun and keeps the party going!
DeleteNot tired of that cute little white skirt at all! ;) Glad you went for something lighter knowing you were going to be dancing. I wore a Kate Spade dress to a wedding on Saturday night and it was a little warm for the dancing that ensued that night. ;)
ReplyDeleteSequins&Stilettos
I think I saw the dress on Instagram! You girls looked beautiful :)
DeleteYou really just need to move to Harveston already, imagine all the cute pictures you could take all the time =) You look bee-u-tee-full!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww thank you :) I love it there! If we could move we would, but we just bought our condo lol.
DeleteThat skirt will never get old! Love this look on you. It is timeless.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the age of the photos for the magazine. I think based on when I submitted the photo and when it was published that they must pick outfits form previous seasons for the upcoming one due to how far in advance they work to get it published. I wouldn't think it would matter if you submitted an older one. You should totally do it! I didn't think I had any shot either!

DeleteYou always look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go shopping with you!!
Don't blame you for grabbing the skirt! It's great! And what a great way to put perspective on your outfit- to think if your future self will give you a side eye for it! Haha I love it! Http://morepiecesofme.com
