Thursday I posted some recent purchases, and I desperately needed your help with a pair of boots I was very iffy about. I got mixed reviews on them: some said I should keep them, others said the color or style was a bit off, and yet another lovely girl said they looked like pirate boots! No offense taken Natalia =) I adore Johnny Depp in Pirates of The Caribbean but I don't want to resemble him. I decided to return them yesterday morning. I mulled the boots over, and although I orginally loved their appearance on the shelf in the store, once I got them home and tried them on I was certain they weren't for me. I just needed some opinions to confirm my own thoughts. Thank you for the feedback, I really loved hearing what you girls all had to say. Your honesty was just what I needed!

My Sephora Friends and Family goodies arrived yesterday as well. I strayed quite a bit from my original wishlist. I skipped the NARS blush because I wanted to buy some from MAC instead. I also decided to forgo Benefit's Skinny Jeans creme shadow, although I'm sure I'll want it again in the future. Here's what I got:
Lancome Artliner in Noir, BE Buxom Mascara, UDPP in the LE Pro Tube, and Smith's Rosebud Salve. Three random samples were also included.

I stopped into the MAC counter to purchase two blushes. One is part of the Tartan Tale collection called My Highland Honey. It has no shimmer and is the perfect peachy-orange. The second blush has a cult following - Pink Swoon (permanent). Kardashian cheeks, here I come!
They are much more color saturated in person. The camera reads them as being muted, but they are not. Expect swatches and or reviews coming soon!

My OOTD (Friday)

Striped top with puffy shoulders - Forever 21
Chain necklaces - American Eagle
Jeans - Express. Please bring this style back! I don't like the new styles and washes
Green flats - Zara

Have I ever mentioned I have a ballet flat obsession? These are quite possibly my favorite. I love the combination of the green with the navy stripes in my top.

I am going to a Halloween party tonight! What are your plans?

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as usual. Thank you to everyone who commented on my Saturday post - the sweet compliments made me smile! I'm very happy that you all seem to enjoy date nights with the boyfriends/hubbys ;)
I did some shopping yesterday with my mom and I plan on sharing what I picked up sometime later this week. Work is extremely hectic right now, and so I don't have much time for myself again until Friday. But I always have time to do some quick swatches, these of a lipstick I got after I took six empty containers Back-To-MAC. I love a free lipstick! Technically not free since I spent a pretty penny on the six products I used up, but still a fun concept none the least. I picked out Shy Girl, my very first cremesheen. Love the name (it's appropriately titled for a girl like myself) and I love the soft peachy-pink color even more. I hope you aren't getting tired of my peach/pink/slightly coral lip colors. I have a problem and there's no help in sight!

On my lips.

I have read reviews that Shy Girl may run a little orange or a bit too light on some fair-skinned girls. I think this shade may look better on people with slightly more olive complexions, but I am not overly tan and I feel like it looks great. If you're uncertain if it will work for you, my best advice is to swatch it in person, and have one of the MUA's apply it on your own lips. That's what I did when I was hestitating at the counter, especially since you can't return lipsticks that you have Back-To-Mac for.
I will repurchase again and again! Aside from Nude Rose and Way To Love (both limited edition), Shy Girl is right there with my favorites. The cremesheen texture is a bit drying on my lips, and I still prefer lustres as they are slightly creamier and more glossy. However, some gloss on top solves the problem.

Do you own Shy Girl? What are your thoughts on the cremesheen formula?

M.A.C. 's To The Beach Collection is out! I have never, ever been this excited about swirly powders and glimmery glosses before. I know you all will see tons and tons of swatches and reviews, but I just wanted to post a few pictures of what I got. Words aren't really necessary in this case.

Splashing on top, Easy Lounger on the bottom

Marine Life Powder
*** I will say this much, if you want one of these pretty pretty powders, get on it! This is probably one of MAC's most coveted products in a long time, and for good reason. It is gorgeous! When swatched, it is a bright coral-red. I don't have a single thing like it. ***

I also ordered Hipness blush online, so I am still anxiously awaiting its arrival next week. I don't really do makeup looks, mainly because my camera isn't sufficient enough, but expect a look using these products very soon!

Did you pick anything up yet? Are you planning on indulging too?

I went to the MAC counter today to buy cremesheens in "Fashion Scoop," which you girls probably know by now is my favorite lip product of all time. It is the prettiest milky pink. I also purchased a beautiful peachy-coral color named "Richer, Lusher." The best way I can describe it is "juicy" - meaning it makes my lips look plump and kissable ;) It isn't exactly as it appears in the tube, but it is still a gorgeous color that is much more opaque than Fashion Scoop or many of the other cremesheens. I also bought a lip pencil called "In Synch." Now, I hardly ever wear a lip pencil. My lips are pretty full on their own, and I never notice any problems with lipcolor bleeding, so a pencil is just another unnecessary step in my routine. But, the MAC girl who helped me was wearing In Synch with Fashion Scoop, and it looked like such a pretty combination! Apparently, it's also the same pairing that the models are wearing in the ad for the collection. So, i'm a sucker and I was sold! I've already tried everything out, and I'm in love with Richer, Lusher. I want to buy another, just in case. And of course, I can never own too many Fashion Scoop cremesheens.

Just to prove my undying, obsessive-compulsive love for cremesheens:

In case you girls haven't noticed, I like pinky-nude lipstick...a lot! While going through my collection today, I realized that not only do I have a lot of lippies that are variations of the same color, but I also have a lot of MAC lipsticks. I can't really explain my little obsession, nor can I completely justify it either. I just love them! I think the main reason is that I love nudes, but I need some pink in order to avoid looking washed out or chalky. I'm secretly envious of all the girls out there who can pull off a truly pale lip. Kim Kardashian immediately comes to mind. With her beautiful tan skin and dark features, she can do a nude lip like no other! I personally am a bit on the lighter side of the complexion spectrum, especially during the winter months (Is it Summer yet?) A pinky-nude is a perfect solution to my problem. A bit pink, a bit nude. Extremely wearable. It looks great with smokey eyes, or with more natural looks. In a word, Perfection.

See, they all look sort of similar. But different enough I guess =)

I am so excited for this! To my understanding, MAC is FINALLY making cremesheen glasses permanent! And they are adding new colors as well. The collection releases March 4th. Now I don't have to hoard my beloved fashion scoop ;) Take a peek here:

I got a request to swatch the mini pigments that I bought from the newest edition of MAC's "Magic, Mirth and Mischief" Holiday collection. I only own one regular MAC pigment in sunnydaze, and it is actually one of the same pigments that came in the Sexpot kit. I decided to get it anyway because I have been lusting after naked, chocolate brown, and dark soul for quite awhile now. And in my opinion, the minis are the perfect size! I have had sunnydaze for years now, and even though I love and wear it a lot, I still have yet to even make a real dent in it. So enough blabbing, on to the swatches:

These are the pigments outside their little box

I also want to mention that these are light swatches. I think they have good payoff, even though they are all very shimmery. Perfect for a night out! Or the upcoming holidays for that sexy, smoky, look.

As always, thanks for reading

You eventually get it! If you read my "Kreative Blogger" post, you know that I have been searching high and low for a MAC Dsquared lipstick in Nude Rose. I went on MakeupAlley, but no luck there. I searched on Ebay, but the bids were insanely high. I called MACPRO, but they didn't have any left either. I lastly did a live chat with a Nordstrom representative, and although she was Super helpful, she could not locate one for me either. So I pretty much gave up and decided that because it was so popular, MAC would probably repromote it in a future collection.
So yesterday, I went to the Nordstrom by my school to check out the half-yearly sale. You girls should definitely go when you get a chance! They have great deals right now. Well after buying a dress and a wide belt, I decided to go upstairs and look at the MAC counter. I knew that asking about the nude rose l/s was pointless, but I went for it anyway. well...

They had ONE left! And the girl seriously had to DIG for it in the drawer! I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to have this in my possession. It's everything I thought it would be - a little nude, a little pink. My favorite combo!
I also got the mini pigment set in Sexpot. If you want to see swatches of those, let me know.

~Thanks for reading~

I was just browsing Temptalia.com and practically screamed when I found out that 3 cremesheen glasses are being repromoted for their holiday collection! I HAVE to get my hands on Ever So Rich and Boy Bait. I have been looking high and low for these, but they were the most popular ones and very hard to come by! You all know I have a love affair with my Fashion Scoop...unfortunately, that one will not be repromoted. But that's alright, I still have two back-ups ;)

7.23.2009

There are two lip products that I cannot be without...and they are limited edition by M.A.C. so aggravating when I find something I truly love and it isn't going to be around forever! One of them is a cremesheen lipglass called "fashion Scoop." It is the prettiest baby pink-nude shade. It is hard to find a baby pink lipgloss that isn't chalky. Fashion scoop is everything I had hoped turkish delight by Nars would be. I have turkish delight and I use it, but it is definitely chalky on my light skin. And I personally don't care for the plastic scent that it has either. I wish MAC would make the cremesheen lipglasses permanent. They have the most amazing vanilla scent, and unlike their regular lipglasses, the cremesheens are not sticky at all!

I also adore "Way to love" lipstick from the Rose Romance collection. It is a pretty neutral pink with a yellow undertone. It is a lustre, so it is quite sheer. But as I have mentioned in a previous blog, I prefer sheer makeup. A lot of YouTube beauty gurus speak about good and bad color payoff, but I have always liked sheer washes of color as opposed to anything too severe. I want to enhance my features, not mask them. No offense to those who disagree!

Fashion scoop and way to love look gorgeous together! The picture below shows swatches of way to love on the left and fashion scoop on the right. My go-to lippies that go with everything! I have back-ups of both of them so when I run out soon, I won't be left kicking myself for not stocking up! If any of you out there are interested in them, they are available at Allcosmeticswholesale.com. Please MAC, stop discontinuing everything I love!!
